UNDER PRESSURE...
They check your bloodpressure every time you goo the doctor dont they?
The truth is that the medicalrofession has used the simple act ofhecking a persons blood pressureo tell an awful lot about that person.
The results of this basic test serve asreliable indicator upon which theoctor can make his/her decisions for
ecommendations and remedies. Peoplewith high blood pressure are instructedn ways to help lower that pressure inrder to allow the heart to performetter while working easier.
Luckily, people much smarterhan me helped me learn to adapt thisystem to the HVAC industry. If yourehinking your system doesnt havelood, or for that matter, a heart, justear me out. You see, we can actuallyake your duct systems blood pressure.
Think of it this way. Your equipment ishe heart of your comfort system, andhe ductwork is its veins and arteries.
When the blower turns on to movehe air, it acts as the heart pumping airhrough your systems veins.
Using the correctly calibratedools along with the proper formulas,ur technicians can check your ducts
blood pressure performing a test doneuring routine maintenance and service
r as a measure implemented whenelping to improve comfort issues or
while replacing equipment. The higher
the pressure in the ductwork, the harderthe blower motor and other componentsneed to work. The harder they work, the shorter theyll last, the worsetheyll perform and the less comfortableyou will be. Additionally, you willincur heftier utility charges trying tocompensate for poor performance.
The pressure in your systemshould not be higher or lower than themanufacturers specified parameters.
You see, manufacturers of air movingequipment have a very specific staticpressure they want their equipmentsubjected to. They know that exceedingthis pressure will affect how well theirsystems work and how much shorter thelife span of it will be.
This information is not limitedto those of you with a conventionalforced air system. Using the sameprinciples and the right software, tests
have been adapted to measure hydronicsystems performance as well. Thesame principles apply, only the testingand configuration changes. On the
the pressure in the ductwork, the harder

ydronics side, boilers use pumps toorce water through a series of pipingo deliver heat or hot water to certainreas. The more pressure in these pipes,he harder theumps and boilers have to work. Again,he harder they work, the worse theyerform.
Improperly pumped and pipedystems have a continual uphill battlerying to deliver hot water where it iseeded. This leads to radiators thatever seem to work right, or areas ofoor heating that never seem to do
what they were intended to.With proper diagnostics
vailable, technicians can make betterecommendations for improvederformance. Improvements can beomething as simple as adding ductworko relieve pressure thus increasingirflow, or reconfiguring pumping andiping configurations. The diagnosticsre also essential when determining theight replacement equipment a newystem that not only matches the loadn the space but also corresponds to theight duct or piping delivery system.
So, why am I telling you this andwhy should you care?
Simple. We have beenerforming this blood pressure testor years along with the other top
contractors in the industry. By usingthese tests we have been able to saveclients hundreds if not thousands ofdollars. We have the ability to provideclients with the right information sothey can make modifications withouthaving to change out equipment to getto the end goal; which is INCREASEDCOMFORT, EASIER EQUIPMENTOPERATION, AND MORE MONEYIN YOUR POCKET.
In some cases we are able tochange blower speeds or make simpleadjustments to offer these results. Inothers, we actually have to make ductmodifications to achieve optimumsuccess. But an investment in thisarea will not only improve comfortand ease pressure, it will also directlyand immediately impact your monthlyutility costs. Every percent increasein efficient air movement is a directdecrease in gas, electric or waterexpenses. In most cases, financial outlay
to make improvements, replacementor corrections to your forced air orhydronic system will be offset by themoney you save month to month.
The best part is that we perfstatic pressure tests during the coursof all maintenance and service callswhich show potential of high staticpressure WITHOUT CHARGINGYOU EXTRA FOR THIS VALUABINFORMATION. We use the
information to help our clients makemost informed decision possible. Yoare free to live with the system you and its current performance, or takeopportunity to help relieve the press

From the get-go, I have taggedong on service calls doing my part even iwas only to hold the ashlight, or handing tools. I played co-pilot or as long as I canmember. Who We Are
Ingredients 2 tablespoons

vanilla extract 3/4 cup dry milkpowder
3/4 cupunsweetenedcocoa powder
1/2 cup lightcorn syrup
2-3 cupsconfectionerssugar
I suppose I ought to take a minuteto introduce you to the newest member of theoffice canine family. The new puppys name is C.C.and she comes to us by way of Brenda. C.C. is acocker spaniel sharpei mix who (as of the dayIm writing this) is about twelve weeks old.
Full timers Murphy and I, as well asRomeo on occasion, are always happy to have anew friend around the office as long as everyone
knows their place and recognizes that I requirethe biggest share of the attention. Any slackingin the human petting of Murphy as compared totime given to the other three will be unhappilyreceived and duly noted. You visitors need toremember this when coming to the office donot be distracted by how cute C.C. is.
As I welcome the new puppy to theshop, I cannot help but notice how rainy andhumid it has gotten. I happen to be quiteafraid of thunder and lightning so itsimpossible not to notice. At home, the familyis considerate about helping me cope with thestorms by tightening up the house. No sleeping
with the windows open for THIS guy.My dad has told me that thanks to the
two-stage air conditioning we have at home,we can de-humidify under lower outdoor loadswithout spending too much in utilities. If heonly knew he sounds like the teacher in CharlieBrown every time he talks shop! Hey dad, zip itand just keep petting me!
Anyway, stay dry and cool until we talkagain! - Murphy
Directions In a greased bowl of a standmixer, combine the butter, vanillaextract, dry milk butter, and cocoa
powder. Using a greased hook attachment, slowly add the csyrup and mix to combine. Begin adding the confectionerssugar, 1/2 cup at a time, with the stand mixer running. Whyouve reached a thick, dough-like consistency, stop addingconfectioners sugar and reserve the rest for rolling.
Dust your work surface with a few pinches of confectiosugar and roll out the dough until it is 1/2 inch thick andabout the size of a backing sheet. Chill in the refrigerator f10 minutes. Cut the chilled sheet into thin, long strips, andthem into ropes using your hands. Chill on a baking sheet the refrigerator for about an hour, and then cut the ropes ibit sized, Tootsie-roll shaped pieces and serve.,, -- .

The month of June has always beenxciting for the Corcorans. We celebratehe birthdays of my first born John, myrother Brian, and Fathers Day with myad, Jack. This June will be particularlypecial because John and my daughter inaw Lindsey are expecting their first. Itsboy, but I have been sworn to secrecyn the name, so stay tuned. Its not onef those celebrity names like Moon Unit,
whew! My nephew Tim and his wife Lesliere also expecting this month; a girl. I dont
know what in the hell was going on lastSeptember, but the results are almost in.
This month also marks a newhapter for myself and siblings as weransition into a life without my mom, eanne. Mom recently died following anight year battle with Alzheimers. What aruly horrible disease for anyone to have too through; not only for the individual, butlso for those around them. Growing up
with my mom, I never once thought I wasoing to have to introduce myself to her.
As we work through this loss, itsice to gather with my Dad, my two older
isters, four younger brothers and with
all those who knew Jeanne, to celebratethe woman we loved so much. Sure, there were some infamous stories. Onein particular involved mom, the ChicagoPolice, myself and a brother - but that is astory for another time. The laughter thatcame through as we shared our memoriestogether helped as we all grieve in our ownways.
I am excited to become a first timegrandfather. My wife Jan, I think, is evenmore excited. This month will truly be the
circle of life for my family.I have a lot more faith in my Hawks afterwatching them transform back into the teamI know and love, after they were down 3-1to the Detroit Red Wings. The Kings stillpose a great challenge, being the defendingStanley Cup Champs, along with their sizeand goal tending. Jonathan Quick andCorey Crawford will no doubtably be goingfor the Conn Smythe trophy, which isawarded to the best goaltender of the year.Speed kills, and right now the Hawks aredeadly.
Well celebrate the month with a
race for the cup, a new Corcoran and Jasper
