WORKSHOP REPORT
About the Workshop
Increasing health issues and short fall of expertise available is demanding need for auto and remote health
monitoring of critically ill and elderly people. With the advancements of biomedical sensors and
technologies, research in processing sensory signals and an early prediction of life critical disease has
bridged the gap between medical expertise and disease cure to a larger extent. Quantitative and objective
analysis facilitated by computational intelligence in Biomedical Signal Processing leads to a more
reliable, accurate and early diagnostic decision. The workshop will include the distinguished speakers
having expertise in the biomedical and signal processing from different parts of India, where in they will
share the research techniques in this field and the probable issues to be addressed in upcoming times. This
will also include illustration of research works in health related issues using different biomedical signals
and images.
Speakers of the Workshop:
1) Dr. Arvind Shaligram, Professor, Pune University.
2) Dr. Nadir Charniya, VESIT Chembur, Mumbai.
3) Dr. Abhay Gaikawad, Professor, BNCOE, Pusad.
4) Dr. Rajesh B. Ghongade, Professor, Pune University
5) Dr. Prashant Bansod, SGSITS, Indore
6) Mr. Sunil M. Agrawal, Associate Professor, BNCOE, Pusad.
Objectives of the Workshop
The objectives of the workshop are to expose the participants to;
The fundamentals of Bio-signals, Medical Imaging and their acquisition
Time and frequency domain analysis of Bio-medical signals and images
Implementing different algorithms for enhancement, compression, segmentation, of
various medical images

Suggestions: The participant of Three Days National Workshop on Biomedical Signal Processing& Health Care Applications has given some important suggestions. The suggestions are as follows:
The sessions of Practical/ Demonstration should be more.
Should give more practical Knowledge with hands on session.
Improvements required in hospitality of guest speakers.
Strengths
The workshop theme and objectives were very good in line with the requirements
Speakers invited were also very good as required.
All the sessions were quite interactive.
Publicity was done in person by moving around in almost all the Institutions/ Universities in
Jaipur. Through mail all over India.
Participants utilized the opportunity to learn various topics in Biomedical Signal Processing
