Dynamic Catholic, Alive! Resurrection & the Real Presence
Surrexit Dominus Vere, Alleluia! The Lord is truly risen! Share this great news. Not only has the Lord risen, but also He re-mains present to us in every Catholic church throughout the world. As Pope Paul VI taught, “The Catholic Church has al-ways displayed and still displays this latria that ought to be paid to the Sacrament of the Eucharist, both during Mass and outside of it, by taking the greatest possible care of consecrated Hosts, by exposing them to the solemn veneration of the faithful, and by carrying them about in processions to the joy of great num-bers of the people” (Mysterium Fidei 56). We derive great strength from the Risen Christ who is truly present in the Eucharist each Sunday. How privileged we are to receive His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity and also to adore Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Each tabernacle is a throne for the Risen King. We must take advantage of the opportunity to adore our Lord and to pray in His powerful presence. He has given us new life and has raised us to the status of adopted sons and daughters. Embrace this new life!

Message from Archbishop Carlson
Dear Faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, I offer to you my deepest greetings of joy and peace on the Solemnity of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ – Happy Easter! Easter is to the Church year what Sunday is to each week – a highlight of rest and rejoicing. Its vivid symbols of fire, water and exultant song remind us that Christ has overcome sin and death. Because of that we know, in the words of Pope Francis, that when everything is said and done, we are infinitely loved by God. Let us pray that the light of Christ will shine in our hearts this Easter, and reach out to others through us. We know that our Savior lives. Let us share with others the joy of knowing that they are loved by God! I ask that you keep in mind that the Archbishop’s Easter Appeal for Retired Priests is today. You know how generously the retired priests served you, and how you counted on them. Now, in turn, they count on you, and are grateful for your gen-erous support and prayers. I pray these are days of blessing for you and your loved ones.

Stewardship Awareness “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2 Do you put God first in all things? Possessions, money, power, ego can easily become gods to many of us. Do a quick check of what is important to you. Is God at the very top of the list? If not, your priori-ties need to be re-adjusted. Don’t let earthly things become a god before God.
THE GREAT COMMISSION: Share the Beauty
By Michael Horn, Archdiocesan Evangelization Coordinator
Catholicism contains a wide array of truly beautiful elements that lift one’s soul to God and the supernatural. The wealth of beauty found in Catholicism does not prove its truth, since we find many beautiful aspects of other religions. However, the beauty of Catholicism serves as a channel to propel people to eventually reach the ultimate truth of Christianity. One can gaze upon a grand cathedral, stained-glass windows, or reli-gious art produced during the Renaissance. One can listen to the euphonious sound of Gregorian chant and polyphony or the ringing of church bells. One can smell the aromatic fragrance of incense or chrism. These aspects of our faith can lead others to an authentic encounter with almighty God. Talk about these beautiful elements of our faith with others and invite them to share your experience. They just might come to understand the truth of Catholicism.
