SCRIP CARD PROGRAM If you are planning a party or doing any home improvements this summer, remember to buy scrip cards before you make your purchases! You use them like you would cash or a debit card. Last fiscal year $4,878 was earned from scrip sales! A Scrip Order Form is inserted in this bulletin and also available on our parish web site at www.stjojo.net. Some of the most commonly sold cards are: Wal-Mart, Dierbergs, Shop-N-Save, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Kohl's, Target, and Walgreens. Scrip cards can be bought at the parish office Mon-Fri 8:30am-3pm.

I am happy to announce that on Saturday we had a Mass at 10am for these students from

our parish who received Jesus for the first time in Holy Com-munion:

Evie Bampton Joseph Burke Isabella Cavazos Gabriel Citrowske Brendan Crisler Taylor Kersting Claire Marut Avery McMillen Kayleigh Shemonia Jacob Wheadon

Please be sure to say a prayer for these children as they con-tinue to grow and develop in their faith. The new septic system for the parish has been installed and is up and working. Final aspects of the project-landscaping, fencing and tweaking of the system-will be ongo-ing. The overall cost of the new system will be announced in the near future once everything has been finalized. This con-cludes the major projects outlined in our Maintaining God’s Blessings Campaign. Once again I want to thank all who gave to this Campaign over the last three years. We were able to accomplish a lot through the generosity of many. Maintenance projects for the summer are: • Demolition and renovation of the interior of the basement

in the preschool building. This project is designed to better facilitate storage, renovate the bathroom and provide for more open space. Volunteers will be needed with the demolition and restructuring of the space. Installation of a washer and dryer from the rectory will be an addition to the facilities for school and preschool use.

• Repair and painting of the fencing along the southern and western boundaries of the parish.

Let us pray for each other this week. Father Bob Samson

Stewardship Awareness “Did not your hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the scriptures? Luke 24:32 How often do we take the time to discern what Jesus wants from us? Are our prayers always petitions, asking Jesus to do things for us? If so, that’s a one-sided relationship. Living our faith means developing a personal relationship with Jesus. Just like any friendship, there is give and take, each side listening to each other and helping each other out. Take time in silence to listen to what Jesus is asking of you.

There will be Mass and Anointing of the Sick next Sat., May 6 at 9am. This is available for all who seek physical, spiri-tual or emotional healing of any kind.

Annual Catholic Appeal As a parish family, one way we proclaim our faith is by partici-pating in the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). Please pick up your pledge card. No donation is too small.
