Dynamic Catholic, Alive! Trust in the Lord

Three times in the Gospel today, our Lord tells the disciples that they should not be afraid. This phrase and related variants occur in Scripture more than any other phrase. We all struggle with worrying and being fearful about many aspects of our lives, but Christ reminds us to trust in Him and His abundant love for us. We have been adopted as sons and daughters of God by the death and Resurrection of Christ. We can live a new life in hopeful confidence that God will provide for our needs and care for us as the loving Father who desires “all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You have already come, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Requirements to attend Mass

• Must not be ill or showing symptoms of illness. • Make reservation by clicking on the link on our parish

website at www.stjojo.net or call the parish office. • Wear a mask. • Use hand sanitizer before entering Church. • Practice social distancing by maintaining 6 ft. distance

from others. • When parking, leave an empty parking space between

cars.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads of the parish. To-day we honor fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society. The example, love and leader-ship of a father is crucial to children of every age. June 30th is the end of our fiscal year. I want to con-gratulate you, as parishioners, for your continued financial con-tributions to the parish. Know that we anticipate a deficit for next year because of the inability to have major fundraisers as a result of COVID-19. This could be in excess of $75,000. Whatever we have left from this fiscal year will surely help out with next year’s fiscal budget. Keep up the good work! If you have been waiting to make your contributions until we are back to the way things used to be, now would be a good time to catch up. It would certainly help us as we plan for the next fiscal year. Let us pray for each other this week.

Father Bob Samson

Stewardship Awareness “Everyone who acknowledges Me before others, I will acknowledge before My heavenly Father.” Matthew 10:32 Would others know that you are Catholic by the way you act and speak? Do you share your Catholic faith with others? Do you defend your Catholic faith when the situation arises or do you remain si-lent? Do you pray in public before meals? Pray for the strength and courage to be a joyful witness of our Catholic faith when the opportu-nity presents itself. Let us become the radiant light and bold witness that we are called to be!

OUTREACH FOR KITUI, KENYA We’re reaching out to you to help a brother in Christ, Fr. Rich-ard Ng’uta. Fr. Richard has visited our parish twice; once as a missionary and then again as a welcomed guest. Upon his re-turn home to Kitui, Kenya his people were faced with a locust plague, flooding from uncommon rainfalls and then a shutdown due to COVID19. His family, friends and city are hungry. Please help. This pandemic is devastating to the whole world, some places more than others. We have opened a short-term account with Bank of Old Monroe under the name of MANNA FOR KITUI to collect donations to buy food. This account will close on Friday, July 3rd, 2020. THIS IS NOT A NON-PROFIT (501c) CHARITY. This is just a gift from your heart. Thank you and God will bless you for your great kindness. You can place your donation in the box in the vestibule or drop it off at Bank of Old Monroe in Wentzville or O’Fallon. Please make checks payable to: MANNA FOR KITUI.

Young Catholic Musicians The Archdiocesan-wide choir and orchestra of The Young Catholic Musicians will hold auditions during June & July in preparation for its 47th year of service to the Church.
