Strip
Project OverviewDesign an eco-friendly commercial strip mall that incorporates energy efficient
technology to maximize energy conservation
MethodologyIn order to create an effective energy efficient structure, I must:• Design a strip mall • Incorporate different energy saving
techniques into one design • Keep the cost of the project low• Minimize energy consumption• Create a new and unique design.
Green Design Factors
• Low E Windows• Solar Power• Water Recycling System• LED Lighting • Evaporating Water System
Solar Power
Solar Power can reduce energy usage up to 40%. The cost of solar energy is high but is no where near as high as the saving that come with it.
Water Recycle System
• System that recycles grey water and uses it for toilet system and sprinkler system. Cuts water usage in half.
LED Lighting
Using LED lighting instead of regular light bulbs increases light intensity while decreasing power usage.
Evaporating Cooling System
• As water heat it evaporates into the air in turn cooling the air.
• Also the water acts as a reflective surface which deflects the sunlight away the surface cooling the area around it.
