ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard
INTRODUCTION The current ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) International Standard has been in the process of major review since the 2013 year and a new standard, ISO 9001:2015, is going to be published in September 2015. The ISO committee TC 176 concluded that the standard needs to be revised to ensure it:
1. Reflects the increasingly complex environments in which organizations operate. 2. Brings Quality Management into the heart of businesses ensuring that it is
completely integrated and aligned with business STRATEGIES. 3. Is easier to integrate when implementing multiple management systems into an
organization. 4. Provides a consistent framework for the next 10 years. 5. More accurately reflects the needs of employees, customers and other
stakeholders. 6. Improves business performance across the organization.
After formal publication of the standard in September 2015, organizations certified to the old version will have 3 years to transition to the new standards. All new certifications will be to the new version.
