INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2020
Independence Day is a grand occasion calling for impressive
celebrations throughout the country that inspires sentiments of
nationalism and patriotism.
DDMS- P.Obul Reddy Public School, celebrates Independence Day with
much fervor every year. Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and
the guidelines associated with it, our school has celebrated the 74th
Independence Day with a limited physical gathering . Shri. S. V. Rao,
Chariman, Andhra Mahila Sabha Educational Academy, hoisted the
National Flag in the presence of Principal, Smt. Latha Shankar, Vice
Principals, Headmistresses, Physical education department and Co-
ordinators. It was an occasion to pay tribute to our great freedom
fighters who sacrificed their lives for Mother India.

Pinning flags to uniforms , watching the flag hoisting and cultural events rich with patriotic fervour
and singing the National Anthem -- Independence Day celebration at school is a treasured
memory for many. In the wake of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and mounting cases, DDMS
P.Obul Reddy Public School has decided to go the virtual way to celebrate India’s 74th
Independence Day. The School celebrated Independence Day on 15th August, 2020. Esteemed
Chairman, Durgabai Deshmukh Mahila Sabha P Obul Reddy Educational Academy , Sri S V Rao
Garu, hoisted the flag on the occasion in the school. Principal, Mrs Latha Shankar,
Vice Principals Mrs Vinitha Anil and Mrs
Nagaveena Byreddy, Head mistresses Mrs B Uditha and Mrs K VijayaDurga were present on the
occasion, along with coordinators Mr T Subbarao and Mrs Radhika S, Mrs Jyotsna and Mrs
Pragathi. Teachers of Physical Education department were also present.
These virtual Independence Day celebrations were spread across a week for the students as the
theme for the assembly. The kids of Pre -Primary celebrated virtual Independence Day in a great
manner. They spoke about our tricolour flag, National Symbols and Father of our Nation and sang
patriotic songs. The tiny tots showcased a virtual food fest which highlighted the tricolours of the
National Flag. A few parents spoke on the importance and significance of Independence Day.
The inspiring speeches and creatively presented skits of the middle school and high school
students brought out the sacrifices made by noble men for the country and inspired everyone to
be a worthy citizen of our country. Students of grade XI and XII made special presentations ,
sang patriotic songs and came up with wonderful articles in different languages on the theme of
Independence.
