Foreword
o failure and frustration seem to e your lot in life@ *s your life
characteriAed y continual setacks and misfortune@ 9oes itappear as though no matter what you do in life, you cannot seem tootain the lessings of the +ord@
%ften the most frustrating thing aout this whole scenario is the
fact that you are a elie?er and lo?e the +ord! *s it possile for a orn1again, Spirit1filled elie?er to still e li?ing under a curse@
*f so, how can a elie?er e deli?ered from a curse and e set free

Redeemed
from
the
Curse
4ccording to alatians 202, we are redeemed from the "urse! *n
other words, Jesus ecame a curse in our stead! *f this is true, then howcan a elie?er still e under a curse@
;o understand this, we need to know the difference etween whatis legally ours and what is e&perientially ours! Just ecause something islegally ours does not mean we will automatically otain it and walk init!
8hat makes this e?en truer in spiritual matters is the fact that weha?e an ad?ersary, the 9e?il, who is determined to keep away from us
what is legally ours! *f he can keep you ignorant of what is legallyyours, he can still enforce a curse against you, e?en though you! arelegally redeemed from it!
;he same is true in the case of sickness and disease! 4lthough the8ord of od teaches that we are already healed y the stripes of Jesus(*saiah 3203), there are many elie?ers who ha?e not appropriated this
promise and continue to attle with sickness! ;his is ecause healing isa part of our redemption, ut it is not automatic!
4gain, according to the 8ord of od, we are healed y the stripesof Jesus! Howe?er, though e?ery elie?er has een legally redeemedfrom sickness, there are still many sick elie?ers! Just ecause one is a
elie?er does not make one e&empt from sickness! *t is possile for aelie?er to e sick e?en with healing eing a part of our redemption!

Identifying and Breaking Curses
Unfortunately, there are still many elie?ers li?ing under curses
e?en though they ha?e een legally redeemed from curses! Just as a
elie?er may ha?e to fight a good fight of faith for healing, he or she
may also ha?e to fight a good fight of faith against curses!
So the answer to the question, C"an a elie?er e under a curse@C
is, C+egally, noD ut e&perientially, yes!C
;his is to say, Satan may not ha?e a legal right to enforce a curse
against you, ut he is an outlaw and will attempt to do so anyway!
;herefore, curses oftentimes ha?e to e roken o?er the li?es of
elie?ers, and the elie?ers must learn how to stand in faith against
those curses, keeping them from operating in their li?es!
;he promises in the 8ord are not automatic! ;hey must e
elie?ed and often fought for! Eou donFt ha?e to fight od for His
promisesD He is not keeping them ack from you! But you must contend
with the 4d?ersary who is trying to pre?ent you from recei?ing and
walking in odFs promises!
So if you are a elie?er and you are e&periencing the symptoms of
a curse, you will ha?e to e loosed from it efore you will e ale to
walk in the full lessings of the +ord!

Chapter
Two
Identifying
Curses
s has already een stated, the cause of curses is iniquity
(per?ersion)! 9iscernment and detection are the two primary ways
to determine the type of curse a person may e under! Supernatural
discernment through the Holy Spirit, including discerning of spirits and
word of knowledge, has pro?en in?aluale in difficult cases! (See
"orinthians 0., -!)
;he gift of discerning of spirits will help deli?erance workers
discern what spirit is operating in a personFs life, and the gift of the
word of knowledge can re?eal the name of the curse and how far ack it
needs to e roken! 9etection is simply seeing the prolems and
knowing something of the family history of the person or whom you are
praying!
Some people ha?e a limited knowledge of what sins may ha?e een
practiced y their ancestors! %f course, no one knows e?erything that
has taken place in his or her family history, for our knowledge is limitedat est, and od Gudges secret sins! ;he manifestation of the Spirit is
needed in many of these cases!
Ha?ing a knowledge of curses and reaking them with a general
prayer is good for e?eryone seeking deli?erance! Since our knowledge
of curses is limited, we must trust the Holy Spirit to gi?e us the name of
a specific curse, if necessary! Sometimes the Holy Spirit will pressuredemons to tell a deli?erance worker the name of the curse they are
operating through!
Some curses need to e identified and roken y name ecause
some demons will attempt to use those unidentified curses as a legal
right to stay! Some demons are ?ery stuorn and will not gi?e up their
ground simply ecause the worker says, C*n JesusF name, * reak all

curses!C
7?en though these demonic spirits ha?e no legal right to stay ased
on alatians 202, they will still attempt to stay if the curse has not een
specifically identified and roken! 8e need to e as thorough as
possile and lea?e no stone unturned in the ministry of deli?erance!

;he curse affects not only us, ut our descendants as well! ;hecurse will continue down the loodline until it is stopped y repentanceand y appropriating y faith the redemption pro?ided y "hristthrough the "ross!
