i-LIFE2 means perfect comfort and lowest operating cost. Fancoil is powered by brushless motor allowing a perfect adaptationto thermal load, without any temperature fluctuations. Centrifugalfan operates through continuous air flow modulation, with nospeed steps or relay switching as traditional fan coil units.i-LIFE features an electrical absorption 50% lower than tradi-tional fan coils of the same size.Furthermore it is available a complete range of controls to man-age all i-LIFE’s functions and characteristics.
Maximum silenceThanks to the continuous fan speed modulation, the noise pro-duced in order to keep the temperature set-point is extremelylow. The adaptation to new set values or different loads is car-ried out varying gradually the fan speed. The acoustic emissions mingle therefore with the backgroundnoise and are almost imperceptible to human ears.
Improved comfortFan coil’s heating and cooling capacity is continuously adaptingto instant heat/cool load according with user requests, achiev-ing greater environment comfort.
Real savingsi-LIFE2 features an electrical absorption 50% lower than tradi-tional fan coils of the same size. The advantages of this increased efficiency are enhanced overthe whole operating year and make available the saved energyfor other components of the system or to improve the buildingenergy efficiency class.
complete integrationi-LIFE2 fan coil offers a wide versatility and deep easy installa-tion. User-friendly interface with LCD screen allows the full con-trol of all operating conditions. Furthermore is possible to inte-grate i-LIFE2 units in Master - Slave networks and Buildingmanagement system (e.g. Idrorelax by Climaveneta). i-LIFE2interfaces guarantees a quick and simple installation thanks toonly two wires connection for plug-in as well as wall-mountedversion of controls.

8. FAN PERFoRMANcES
i-LIFE2 has be designed to assure high pressure also with pres-sure drops due to complex ducts. This fan coil is powered by modulating speed centrifugal fan.It guarantees air flow regulation from 0% to 100%, adapting work-ing condition to real thermal load present in the room.In the following fan curves are defined hypothetical workingcurves according with 6 speeds curves of traditional fan coil a-LIFE2.
The graphs on the following pages show the useful head or work-ing pressures in relation to the air flow and the fan speed.
NOTE: Graphs refer to 3-rows sizes. Use given multiply factors.P

controller with Lcd screen for universal installationThe IK controller can be used to set: operating mode (OFF /cooling / heating / AUTO / FAN), fan speed (Max / Med / Min /AUTO), temperature set point by electronic thermostat. Com-bined with the i-hB power board, it manages the main valve(cooling/heating - 2-pipe system) and additional valve (heatingmode - 4-pipe system). Control of ON/OFF and modulatingvalves with 0-10V signal or 3-position valves (230 Vac or 24 V).Management of air temperature and minimum water tempera-ture probes. Management of Master-Slave local networks withup to 8 LIFE2 series fan-coils. The user interface can be integrated into centralised BuildingManagement Systems (e.g. Climaveneta Idrorelax) compatiblewith the Modbus protocol.
The iK controller can also display and configure user operatingparameters; moreover, the parameters set on other controllersand/or i-hB power boards connected to the local network canalso be displayed and set.The controller is quick and easy to install, thanks to the two-wireconnection and either wall mounting or plug-in assembly on theunit. The iK interface controls fan speed continuously in AUTOspeed mode. When IK is used with i-LIFE2 fan-coils featuringcontinuous modulation, the speed can be set manually basedon six preset steps. The IK controller is powered directly by the i-hB power boardinstalled on the side of the fan-coil.To switch the IK interface off, press the ( ) button.

RS485 KIT - INTERFAcE FoR BUILdING MANAGEMENTSYSTEMSThe RS485 kit is an interface for connecting the i-hB powerboard to an RS485 serial line for integration into a BMS supervi-sion system with Modbus RTU Master protocol. The LIFE2 range of fan-coils can be integrated into centralisedhydronic and RS485 supervision systems compatible with theModbus RTU protocol. The RS485 interface kit is installed on the i-hB power board, which in turn must be fitted on the fan-coil.The interface is powered directly by the power board. The fan-coil control unit is not required for management in cen-tralised systems. The RS485 kit features plug&play installation, consequently no parameters need to be set.For management in centralised systems with Master-Slave con-nection (2-wire bus), only 1 RS485 expansion board needs tobe installed.
BTicino GATEWAY KITThe “BTicino” Gateway kit transmits, through the TTL serial out-put, the commands received from the control unit or from thesensor to the fan-coil.
1) TTL serial output:Used for connections with controls, fon-coil
2) Pushbutton:Not used
3) Yellow indicator light:Indicates the terminal unit status (on/off)
4) 2-way terminal block:Connection for SCS BUS cable
5) Slot for configurators:For Gateway configuration

The fan coil comes fully wired and only requires:- Connecting to the mains electricity supply and to any room
control. It is also recommended to check that:- The characteristics of the mains electricity supply are suitable
for the input indicated in the table below, which (with maxi-mum values) should serve for sizing both the circuit breakersand the power cables (any other appliances working in paral-lel should also be taken into consideration).
- The supply voltage corresponds to the rated value +/- 10%.
The following is compulsory:
Installation near the appliance of a delayed-action single-pole linked magnetothermal circuit breaker, padlockable, line isolating switch, in compliance with CEI-EN standards(contact separation of at least 3 mm).
