How to Set Up Stream Media Server via iVMS-4200
Instructions: Devices (DVR/NVR/DVS/IP Camera) has a preview limit and it will deny more clients to preview when the limit is reached, as shown in the picture below.

A PC that running Stream Media Server software is a stream media server. Stream media server receive video stream and then transmit it to other clients. By doing so, a lot more clients can preview the video via iVMS-4200.

Preparations: Download iVMS-4200 software on
http://www.hikvision.com/en/download.asp and install it on PC.
a. Select label “Client Software” and download “Hikvision iVMS-4200” (according to the version on official website).
b. Extract the downloaded file and install the software.
c. Remember to check the “Stream Media Server” checkbox in the installation window.
Note: Keep the iVMS-4200 Stream Media Server running.
Step 2: Set up stream media server in iVMS-4200. a. Run iVMS-4200 on the PC which Stream Media Server is running on.
Enter “Stream Media Server” configuration.
b. Click “Add” to add the stream media server, input a name and the IP
address of the PC and click “Add” button after finished.
Step 3: Start previewing with stream media server. a. In Control Panel, enter the “Camera Settings” window.
b. Select the camera according to your needs. Click “Network Connection”
and check the “Obtain video stream via Stream Media Server”. Select the Stream Media Server you just added and save the settings.
c. If the server is successfully built up, the window of Stream Media Server
will record the access of clients.
