Roll up and rock on as the Home of Metal Black Country Weekender comes to your town. Join in the festivities from 1-4 September as Home of Metal lets loose across the Black
Country to continue our celebration of the music that was born here. Join in the fun with great
FIlm screenings, exhibitions and live music. The weekend is bursting with events all inspired by Heavy Metal and its unique birthplace.
Home of Metal is a celebration of the music that was born in the Black Country and Birmingham, a project created and produced by Capsule. Four decades since Heavy Metal was unleashed onto an unsuspecting world, Home of Metal honours a truly global
musical phenomenon.

Join the roadshow as it takes a Heavy Metal trip through the Black Country. Come onboard and watch archival and Heavy Metal related short films in the Vintage Mobile Cinema, a 22-seat picturehouse on wheels that has been restored to its former glory. Make your own Home of Metal musical instrument with Juneau Projects. Use cardboard, add some simple electronics to trigger sound samples, then take to the stage and play.
Brace yourself for a juggernaut of Heavy Metal cinema, blazing a trail across the Black Country with an awesome programme of documentaries, rare archive, late-night horror and special guests. The heart of the action will be at the Light House Cinema in Wolverhampton, with a menu of movies which will take you from Midlands foundries to Morroccan rooftops, from spandex nonsense to raw doom – with a screening pass available for £25 if you want to devote the whole weekend to Metal on Film. See timetable for full programme.Film Certificates are available at venues and www.homeofmetal.com
