• Four percent of the population are Muslims.
• There are 2266 mosques or Masjids in the whole country.
• Buddhism is the main religion of Myanmar.
• Halal food and practices were well established since several centuries ago in Myanmar by the muslims.

• The food as well as drinks use by a Muslim should be lawful (halal) and pure(layyib)
• The Prophet (PBUH) said “(All) good and wholesome things are made lawful for you.”
• Halal food is consumed by muslims and non muslims alike in my country and is an emerging popularity because halal foods are wholesome, clean, hygienic and safe.

• Organized and authoritive Halal certification processes need to be improved and updated with scientific technologies and standardized guidelines.
