Guest Speaker: Steve Seibert

Steve Seibert is presently the Executive Director of the Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida.

Seibert was twice elected to the Pinellas County Commission, served as Chairperson of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, the

Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Agency on Bay Management, and as a charter member of the region’s water supply authority,

Tampa Bay Water. Steve Seibert was significantly involved in helping to broker the end of the Tampa Bay "water wars".

In 1999, Steve was tapped by Governor Jeb Bush to head Florida’s Department of Community Affairs. Secretary Seibert directed an

agency with community-building responsibilities, including economic development, emergency management and growth management.

As Secretary of DCA, Seibert was a member of numerous statewide bodies, including the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, the

Governor's Growth Management Study Commission and the Florida Community Trust Governing Board.
