YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!
The grace of the Holy Spirit and the peace of Christ be with you.
Food Pantry—on-going collection of items always needed—paper
products, shampoo, laundry and dish soap.
Blessings in a Backpack continues to be a success. We will collect
individual boxes of cereal for November.
Mike Elliott for maintaining our grounds all summer. It’s appreciated. We’re looking good!
Council members for the extra time you’ve given Grace during this transition. You’ve kept
us informed and running smoothly.
Grace UCC Council October 19, 2016
Correspondence- We received a note from Sandy Middleton expressing pleasure with the redecoration of Zion Hall. Dollis Dillon’s gift – After the spaces have been cleaned downstairs, we will have an open meeting to discuss how we’d like to renovate the space.—for children’s Sunday School, playroom and game room. Pastoral care- from the September minutes: Congregants need to take some responsibility for pastoral care, even though Sam will be on call for official pastoral care. We need to compile a list of those who are home-bound or in the nursing homes, as well as those who are willing to visit and be “the face of Grace” with these folks. We will ask for volunteers to serve in this important ministry. Congregational next steps Cottage meetings – Council will be available after worship on October 30th and November 6. We will have a congregational vote on November 13. Some facilities issues: Get r id of water fountain in Zion Hall and add a cabinet to store dishes and silverware for MMM? Parsonage cleaning: We still need to do a walk through and schedule final cleaning. All Saint’s Day – plan for communing with our departed loved ones. Bring photos. Sunday School – We need a teacher for children's Sunday School. Any volunteers? Also the UCC is offering materials about white privilege. We could potentially offer this as an adult Sunday School series.
