KeywordsGluteal tendinopathy, gluteal tendinitis, gluteal tendonitis, hip tendonitis, gluteus medius tendinopathy, gluteus minimus tendinopathy, non-insertional tendinopathy, insertional tendinopathy, hip tendon injury, glute tendinosis, gluteal tendinosis, gluteus medius / minimus partial tear
Treatment Plan
Acute: start as soon as possible after diagnosis. Then twice a week for minimum of three weeks. Then weekly for three weeks or in response to symptoms. Chronic: Twice a week for a minimum of 6 weeks, or daily until symptoms subside, and then twice a week for three weeks
Intention
Stimulate lymph nodes to reduce inflammation
& oedema
Heal injuries and local inflammation
De-activate trigger points
Analgesia
Probe
LED Cluster 810nm 1W laser Cluster

Pulse 2.5Hz 2.5Hz Continuous Continuous
Tx Time 1 Min 1 Min 30 seconds 30 seconds
Tx Targets
Inguinal lymph nodes if inflammation is present
Treat areas of affected gluteal muscle and insertion as needed - 2 - 6 points
Myofascial trigger points in gluteal and musculature, tensor fascia late and ITB - ones shown are examples
L3-S1 spinous processes and ipsilateral nerve root exits
The colours represent which probe to use and where to place it
