The GPGrsquos Solar PV Programme aimed at developing Rooftop Solar PV panels on GPG owned properties and buildings to generate electricity throughout the province The design construction financing maintenance and operations of a programme of rooftop solar panel installation on Gauteng Provincial Governmentrsquos buildings (more than 500 sites with a total roof surface area of app 8 million m2) Progress for the first phase of the project is as follows The project was registered as a PPP The feasibility study was completed and taken through
the TR16 process which involved issuing the project to the market through RFQ Bidders were evaluated for phase 1 which included the 16 sites split into 4 clusters to generate
35 MW of power circa R900 million A preferred bidder has been recommended and GIFA is currently awaiting the approval from
National Treasury for a TAIIB

Progress for the pilot phase is as follows
The preferred bidder was selected for the implementation of a Co-generation Plant at Chris-Hani Bara Hospital for a 25 MW base load of power circa R100 million
The contractual negotiations with the preferred bidder on-going and expected to conclude in August 2017
The remainder of the 5 hospitals will be issued to the prequalified bidders post-financial close of CHB Hospital

The main aim of the project is to contribute to the diversification of the Gauteng economy and strengthen the global competitiveness of the jewellery industry to use natural resources in an efficient manner develop human capital and develop the necessary technology The Design construction financing maintenance and operations of a jewellery manufacturing precinct of app 42 000 m2 within the Special Economic Zone of the OR Tambo International Airport A lease agreement has been concluded with the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) An IDZ operator permit was issued to the IDZ Devco in December 2010 The campus approach enables the conglomeration of jewellery manufacturing regulators and support operations within close proximity of each other The development comprises of amongst others production facilities - gold and diamond cutting jewellery factories office buildings and other supporting services and infrastructure Progress to date 85 of the tenant pipeline has been achieved Lease contract has been concluded for 50 of the precinct relating to in2Food

Project Background and Scope
The project involves the development of an Agro Processing hub in Tshwane The agro-processing industry is among the sectors identified by the National Development Plan (NDP) Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP) the New Growth Path Gauteng Employment Growth and Development Strategy (2009) and Gauteng Agricultural Development Strategy (2010) for its potential to spur growth and create jobs because of its strong backward linkage with the primary agricultural sector The proposed agro-processing facility will only focus on food and beverages category as per International Standards Industrial Classification (ISIC 2013) The facility will include some value added services such as food laboratory training centre and offices and make provision for nine food processing line opportunities Nine (9) food processing opportunities were identified ie Powdering Mixing and Packaging Drying Canning Pastes Juicing Bottling Dairy Jam and Chutney Market testing will be conducted in the second half of 2017 to solicit appetite for potential developerinvestors through a turnkey approach
