Pray Finances. Praise God for all the generous donations to
the well-drilling project and disaster relief project these
last few months. Please pray that regular giving would
keep up with our general work and personal expenses of
travel and visiting supporters here in the US.
Visiting Supporters. Pray for us as we hit the road in
another few weeks to visit some of our friends and
supporting churches in the Midwest.
Bible Translation. Please continue to pray for my friends
Jonas and Pierre as they work to draft Exodus and the
Psalms these next few months.
Need for a community development worker and literacy
worker. Pray that God would send more workers to help
us reach the Lele—especially a literacy person and a
community development person.

HALA TANDO Ar e you Saf e? By Marc During these first few weeks of June, we are in
Dallas, Texas helping and learning during PBT’s
Discovery and Resource training weeks as well as
catching up with many of our missionary colleagues
from around the world.
One fellow missionary was sharing with us about
his experiences in a part of the world that has been
riddled with conflict. Many
of his partners n the US often
ask, “Are you safe?”
As many of your know, it isn’t always “safe”
working in a third world country. Did we feel safe
when we heard that local youth were holding a strike
and destroying government buildings back in 2007?
Did Tina feel safe when she saw a green mamba in the
bushes surrounding our outdoor latrine a few years
ago? Is it safe driving on the freeway here in Dallas?

DONATE TODAY Tax-deductible donations to our ministry with PBT should be
made out to “Pioneer Bible Translators” and sent to the
following address:
PBT- Gebhard
P.O. Box 10184
Terre Haute, IN 47801
We welcome donations to our every day ministry of Bible
Translation among the Lele. Additional special donations
can help villages in need of clean drinking water or with
community rebuilding projects in the villages affected by
the Ebola outbreak earlier this year. To designate your gift
to one of these projects, write Village Wells or Disaster
Relief on the memo line. We also thank you for
designating special donations to the House Annex, Lele
Literature and Replacement Vehicle funds.
Thank you for being a part of the mission to reach the Lele
and other Bible-less peoples around the world with the
precious word of God. Thank you for your prayers and
faithful contributions to this work. We value you as a very
real part of the Pioneer Bible Translators team.
Financial Snapshot While gifts to disaster relief and village well-drilling funds
have been substantial these last few months, regular work
funds and salary funds for this ministry are depleted due to
airline flight expenses in May. Please pray that God would
provide for ongoing every day work and living expenses as well
as for the special project expenses associated with our ministry
with Pioneer Bible Translators among the Lele.

“safe” from our American point of view. But we need to ask
a question. Is it ever “safe” to walk in God’s will?
From an earthly point of view, it is not very safe doing
God’s work. Were things safe for Paul? We read about him
getting thrown in jail and nearly drowning in a shipwreck.
Jesus tells us that “losing our life” for his sake is really
saving our lives eternally. “What good is it for a man to gain
the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?”
The spiritual reality is that we are eternally safe if we are
living according to God’s will, not for a life of ease on earth.
What about you. Will you “play it safe” for a life of earthly
comfort or are you a living sacrifice for God and his eternal
kingdom? Living for him fulfills and satisfies.
Jesus calls his disciples to look beyond just this world and
live for something beyond the comforts of this world. Let’s
not be satisfied with material wealth. Let’s live for him!
