g a r d e n d e s i g n is the future of the home: a

new era in which the boundary between indoors and outdoors is

erased, and nature is an integral part of sophisticated design. every

issue is a meeting place for a new generation of professionals and

enthusiasts from all over the world who have an intimate connection

to the natural environment and a distinctive sense of style. garden

design looks at the home not as a mere showcase for material things,

but as an ever-changing expression of the people who live in it.

hothousea lively, eye-catching, ever changing roundup of news from the worlds of gardening, landscape design, horticulture, home design, and more: from new products to awards competitions to travel opportunities to exhibitions and beyond.

growcelebrating the pleasures and possibilities of a single kind of plant, delivering the gratifying level of detail and thoroughness that is a hallmark of the new garden design.

vistagarden design honors the literary, artistic, and emotional aspects of gardening as much as it does hands-on advice.

knowThis is our back-to-basics, how-to boil-water, from-the-ground-up advice section, designed to provide beginning or aspiring gardeners with the motivation they need to start a new project.

styleour style section is guided by the principle that the boundary between indoor and outdoor is fluid. Thus, our notion of style encompasses furniture, fabric, and wallpaper as much as plants, trees, and landscaping.

entertainingprovides readers real-world advice on how to make their outdoor space the perfect setting for dinner parties, cocktail parties, brunches, picnics, and more. and it shows them how to bring a garden-like feel to indoor living spaces.

edibletips on cultivating heirloom fruits and vegetables; advice on planting herbs; lots of great recipes; even instructions for making your own garden-sourced cocktail bitters and liqueurs.

profileBehind all great gardens are fascinating personalities, and this is where we tell their stories, whether it’s a close up look at a groundbreaking sustainable landscape pioneer or an intimate portrait of an inspiring home gardener.

almanacThis is garden design’s community forum, a space in which readers can share pictures of their gardens, convey garden news from wherever they happen to live, seek advice (and give it), and offer lively first-person anecdotes on the pleasures of gardening.

improvinghere, we provide hands-on tips and tools for upgrading and maintaining the bones of the home and garden: architectural innovations, new technologies, and breakthroughs in sustainable hardscaping.

museour back page is devoted to a single, evocative image or thought that epitomizes the wise old axiom “nature is the muse of all gardeners.”
