GAC Hounds Grab the Spotlight

Ten GAC dogs made their debut on San Diego's Fox 5 Morning News last month. Allwere ready for their close up with host Erica Fox who promoted adoption andsponsorship (Watch it here!) Days later, nine-month-old Merry (on the far right) wasadopted by a family in Northern California who made a 10-hour trip to bring herhome!

Rescuing Injured Dogs

We are seeing more broken legs than ever before. Since the first of this year, wehave rescued 11 dogs with serious injuries costing $14,000 in veterinary care. Mostof these brave dogs are fully recovered and have been adopted into loving homes.You can help by donating to our Fyvie Fund for specialty medical care.

About Greyhound Adoption Center

Since 1987, the non-profit Greyhound Adoption Center (GAC) has found lovinghomes for nearly 6,000 retired racing greyhounds and greyhound-mixes from across

the U.S. Up to 150 greyhounds a year arrive at its San Diego, Calif. kennel to benurtured and rehabilitated on the way to finding forever homes. Staff and volunteershelp feed, bathe and exercise the dogs with some requiring extensive surgeries torepair injuries suffered on the racetrack. GAC carries out adoptions in California withextensive pre-and post-adoption support. Funded by generous grants, member duesand sponsor donations, GAC has grown to become one of the world’s largestgreyhound rescue organizations.
