Togetstarted:YouneedtorequestaccessbycontactingElizabethGeer,directorofCreativeServices,atelizabeth.geer@furman.edu.Youwillreceiveanemailinvitationtocreateausernameandpassword.NotethatthisneedstobeauniqueusernameandpasswordandNOTyourFurmannetworkcredentials.Tocreateadocument:Onceyouareinthesystemandarereadytocreateadocumentgoto“Create”(atabonthetopleft).

Oncein“CreateaDocument,”youaregoingto“ChooseDocumentType.”Wehavecreatedthefollowingtemplatesfromwhichtochoose:

• Brochures• Certificates• Flyers• InvitationsandCards• Miscellaneous(graphicemails,emailheaders/footersandsocialelements)• Postcards• Posters• Programs• EventNametags• Newsletters(tocome)• Moretemplateswillbeaddedregularly

Onceyouchooseyourdocumenttype,youwillnowhaveseveraldesignoptionstoutilizeor“ChooseTemplate”–somehavedifferentamountsofphotos,copyspace,etc.Therearealsodifferentsizesandfoldsfromwhichtochooseaswell.

Onceyouchoose,youwillclick“CreateDocumentNow.”Youwillbeabletoclickonthepreviewsectiontochangephotosandcopy.Thesystemwillleadyouthroughthispartandwillkeepgeneratingnewpreviewsasyouupdateelements.

Youwillbeabletoaddyourheadline,subhead,copyandmore.Lookforthepromptsinthetemplates.Youwillalsohavetheabilitytouploadyourownphotooryoucanclick“FurmanLibrary,”whichincludescampus,studentlifeandacademicimagesyoumayinclude.Notethattherearesizelimits,sophotosfromcellphonesorphotosthataretoosmall(low-res)mayberejected.DonotusephotosyoufindonlineorinGoogleImages–youdonothavetherightstousethem.ProTip–itisgoodto“refresh”thesystemifyoudon’tgetthehoveringhandthatletsyouclick.

Tosubmitforapprovals:Onceyouarehappywithyourdesign,youwillneedtosenditforapproval*.Gotothegreen“Approvals”tab.

Onceyourdocumentisapprovedorhassuggestedchanges,youwillreceiveanemail.Youcanthengobackintoyour“Approvals”tabattheverytoptoseethestatus.Youcanalsogoinyour“MyDocuments”tabatthetoptoreviewallofyourcreatedpiecesandthestatus.*Note:ElizabethGeerinCreativeServicesisthe“approver,”soifthereareanyquestionsyoucanreachoutdirectlytoheratelizabeth.geer@furman.edu.Shewillreviewyourdocumentbutnotputitthroughthepacesofafullproofing.Youareresponsiblefortheaccuracyofyourcontent.Youarewelcometorequestassistanceormakeanycommentsinthesubmissionform.Also,talktoyoursupervisorordepartmentheadaboutyourinternalapprovalprocessbeforeyoubegin.
