  A MAN has died followinga road accident close toMarkethill in Co Armaghyesterday evening.

It is understood that theman, believed to be in his 50s,  was driving an articulatedlorry when the accidenttook place on the BallyvallyRoad at Loughgilly at around4.45pm.

Police have urged anyone who may have witnessed theaccident to contact them.

The tragedy is the secondfatality on the Province’sroads so far this year.

Const Carroll died o asingle gunshot wound to thehead sustained as he sat ina police car while colleaguesattended a 999 call in theLismore Manor area o Craigavon.

The Crown claim he was

lured to his death. A brick had been thrownthrough the window o a house in the privatedevelopment an hour earlier,prompting the occupants tocall the police.
