Enter His gates with …
Give … To Him
And … His name.
--Psalm 100.4
The best days to give thanks and praise to God are all of them that end in
“Y.” Every day is a “Thanksgiving” day.
Every day may NOT feel like a “thanksgiving day.” The frustrations my pile
up; the stress mounts; we take on more projects than we can possibly accomplish;
we hold on to irritations and they build up. We’ve all had days like that, maybe
even several days together like that. Instead of a “thanksgiving” day they become a
“whine and complain day.”
There are several things we can do to make all our days thanksgiving days.
First, let God know what kind of day were having and invite him into your situa-
tion. It’s amazing how his perspective can lighten, brighten, and clear the air pollut-
ed by worry and anxiety.
Second, we can stop and make a gratitude list. Take a piece of paper and list
all the things that we have to be thankful for. It can be as simple as: blue skies, dark
clouds that come to an end, laughter, children, love, grace, etc., etc., etc. The list
could go on and on and on. We are so blessed.
Third, pray for someone—even better, pray with someone. When we’re fo-
cused on our preoccupations and ourselves we sometimes lose sight of what’s really
important. Praying for someone or with someone gets us outside ourselves.
Fourth, do something for someone else, and try to keep it a secret. Some-
times we have to act, and do something before our hearts and heads changes our
thinking.
Make every day a thanksgiving day!
in His love, Martin

CHOIR NOTES
Thank you to all who helped out this last Sunday in the worship services when I could not be there. I do appre-ciate it. For this coming Sunday, the praise songs will be a repeat of the new song "Breathe" and the singing of a familiar song "Our God." The choir will sing "Risin Out of My Soul," an upbeat song from the 1980s. See you Sunday! Paula

Our sincerest thanks to Rev. Foster for presiding over our father Clayton Bolay’s funeral, and a big thank you to the church ladies for helping prepare a wonderful meal for us, and to everyone for all the com-forting words and deeds. You all have been so very kind and helpful. As always, the doors of the church were wide open to us. The First Christian Church in Perry will always be our home church. May God bless FCC always.
From the Ted Bolay and Teresa Upchurch families.
…..A note from Rev. Michael Davison, Associate Re-
gional Minister: "What happens at a church camp or weekend retreat? Great question. A camp or retreat experience is a blend of play, study, worship, service, and prayer. Each day participants live through these elements that help a young person discover God, deep-en their faith commitment, and put their discipleship as a follower of Jesus into practice. Camp Directors are beginning to recruit counselors for this summer’s excit-ing weeks of camp. During June the Region offers church camp experiences for children and youth in grades 2-12 and this year we have 2 new camps. Heifer Week is designed for youth completing grades 7-10. This week is limited to 20 youth who, with 5 adults, will spend a week at the Heifer Ranch in Perryville, AR learning about how other cultures live, eat, and interact with first world nations. It will be an eye opening and challenging week, June 5-10. Kairos Camp is designed for youth in grades 4-8 and is hosted at Camp Christian near Chouteau. This will be a traditional residential camp experience with small groups, games, crafts, keynotes, and worship and all the elements mentioned above. Between February 8 and April 16 the Region offers dis-count rates, and between April 17-May 15 the regular camp rates apply. If you are a member of a congrega-tion in the Central Area or the Northwest Area your camper is eligible for a further discount through a grant from the Leave No Child Behind fund that is sponsored by Disciples’ Men in those areas." Heifer Week (grades 7-10): June 5-10 Kairos Camp @ Camp Christian (grades 4-8): June 13-17 Discovery Camp @ Central Camp (grades 2-3): June 17-19 Junior Camp @ Central Camp (grades 4-5): June 20-24 Chi Rho Camp @ Oakridge Camp (grades 6-8): June 27-July 1 CYF Conference @ Central Camp (grades 9-12): June 27-July 1 For more information on the camp registration process

About the Camp Facilities
DID YOU KNOW…..In Oklahoma there are three
camp facilities that have Disciples roots dating to
the early 1950’s. These facilities remain related to
Christian Church in Oklahoma. Each one, Camp
Christian, Texoma Christian Camp, and Central
Christian Camp & Conference Center have their
own governing boards that set policies, rental fees,
and maintain onsite staff and programs. The Chris-
tian Church in Oklahoma has no oversight, nor
financial responsibility for these facilities. One of
our Associate Regional Ministers attends the
board meetings of the facilities and provides sup-
port and advice when needed. Many individual
members and congregations provide their time and
financial support to one of our Disciples related
facilities.
