(1) THE CONTRACTING OFFICER HAS GIVEN PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL; OR(2) THE INFORMATION IS OTHERWISE IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN BEFORE THE DATE OF RELEASE(B) REQUESTS FOR APPROVAL SHALL IDENTIFY THE SPECIFIC INFORMATION TO BE RELEASED, THE MEDIUM TO BE USED, AND THE PURPOSE FOR THE RELEASE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL

VISIT THE EXISTING BUILDING PRIOR TO BID INORDER TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE EXISTING CONDITIONS AND IN ORDER TOAVOID CONFLICTS. THE CONTRACTOR MUST PROTECT AND PRESERVE ALL EXISTINGWORK NOT PART OF PROJECT.

REPAIR DAMAGE: EXERCISE CARE IN REMOVAL OF DEMOLITION ITEMS. REPAIR, AT NOADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER, ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO EXISTINGCONSTRUCTION AND/OR EQUIPMENT TO REMAIN.

DEMOLISHED MATERIALS: MATERIALS REMOVED UNDER DEMOLITION, NOT TO BERELOCATED OR DESIGNATED TO BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER, WILL BECOME THEPROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND MUST BE REMOVED COMPLETELY FROM THESITE.

SCHEDULE OUTAGES: SCHEDULED OUTAGES MUST BE COORDINATED THROUGH THEGOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER OR CONTRACTING OFFICER.

NOTIFICATION: NOTIFY THE GOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER ORCONTRACTING OFFICE PRIOR TO TURNING OFF CIRCUITS.

GENERAL: UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATED OTHERWISE, WORK SHOWN ON FIREALARM DRAWINGS IS NEW WORK TO INCLUDE THE FIRE ALARM/MASS NOTIFICATIONPANEL, DEVICES, AND APPLIANCES ON DRAWINGS FOR A COMPLETE ANDOPERATIONAL SYSTEM.

COORDINATION: THE CONTRACTOR MUST REVIEW CONTRACT DOCUMENTSINCLUDING FIRE ALARM DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS. CONTRACTOR MUSTCOORDINATE AND ADJUST ACCORDINGLY AS DIRECTED BY THE COTR.

AS-BUILT DRAWINGS: SECURE AN EXTRA SET OF DRAWINGS TO BE KEPT ON SITEAND MARK DAILY, THE DRAWINGS IN RED AS THE PROJECT PROGRESSES IN ORDERTO KEEP AN ACCURATE RECORD OF ALL DEVIATIONS BETWEEN THE WORK SHOWNON THE DRAWINGS AND THE WORK WHICH IS ACTUALLY INSTALLED. THESE MARKEDDRAWINGS MUST REFLECT ANY AND ALL CHANGES AND REVISIONS TO THEORIGINAL DESIGN WHICH EXISTS IN THE COMPLETED WORK. DELIVER THE MARKEDDRAWINGS TO THE COTR AT PROJECT CLOSE-OUT. IN ADDITION, PROVIDE CONTACTID POINT DESCRIPTIONS FOR EACH DEVICE.

INSPECTIONS: ARRANGE NECESSARY INSPECTIONS. DELIVER REQUIREDINSPECTION CERTIFICATES TO THE GOVERNMENT.

LABELING: ALL CONDUIT, JUNCTION/BACKBOXES, COVERS AND COUPLINGS, WHENPROVIDED, MUST BE FACTORY PAINTED RED IN UNFINISHED AREAS (E.G. ABOVECEILINGS, MECHANICAL ROOMS, ETC.). ALL CONDUIT, JUNCTION/BACKBOXES,COVERS AND COUPLINGS, WHEN PROVIDED, ARE PERMITTED TO BE PAINTED TOMATCH THE ROOM FINISHING IN FINISHED AREAS. THE INSIDE COVER OR THEJUNCTION BOX MUST BE IDENTIFIED AS "FIRE ALARM" AND THE CONDUIT MUST HAVEPAINTED RED BANDS 3/4" WIDE AT 20' INTERVALS ON BOTH SIDES OF ALL FLOOR,WALL, AND CEILING PENTRATIONS. LABEL ALL JUNCTION BOXES WITH CIRCUITDESIGNATIONS OF THE CABLING INSIDE. PROVIDE LEGIBLE TYPED LABEL ON ALLADDRESSABLE DEVICES TO INDICATE ITS ADDRESS. FOR ANY DEVICE LOCATEDABOVE ACCESSIBLE CEILING, ATTACH A LEGIBLE TYPED LABEL TO THE CEILING GRIDINDICATING THE DEVICE NOMENCLATURE AND ADDRESS.

WORKING CLEARANCE: COORDINATE FINAL LOCATIONS OF FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENTWITH MECHANICAL DUCTWORK, PIPING ETC. AND ASSURE WORKING CLEARANCEWILL BE MET. SUFFICIENT ACCESS AND WORKING SPACE MUST BE PROVIDED ANDMAINTAINED AROUND FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED BY THE NATIONALELECTRICAL CODE. CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATE FINAL LOCATION OFEQUIPMENT PROVIDED.

MOUNTING HEIGHTS: MOUNTING HEIGHTS INDICATED ARE FROM THE FINISHEDFLOOR TO THE CENTERLINE OF THE DEVICE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.

FIRE STOPPING: FOR WALL OR FLOOR PENETRATIONS THROUGH FIRE-RATEDSTRUCTURES PROVIDE FIRE-STOPPING TO SEAL THE PENETRATIONS AFTER THECONDUIT HAS BEEN INSTALLED. FIRE STOPPING FOR PENETRATIONS MUST BE ULAPPROVED PER THE PENETRATION MADE IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN FIRE-RATEDINTEGRITY OF THE STRUCTURE.

FIRE ALARM COORDINATION: THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR MUST COORDINATEWITH THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM PROVIDER AND PROVIDE POWER CONNECTIONS TOCOMPONENTS WHETHER SHOWN OR NOT. MANUFACTURERS REQUIRE VARYINGQUANTITIES OF POWER CONNECTIONS FOR EQUIPMENT LIKE EXPANDER PANELSAND POWER SUPPLIES. THESE DEVICES ARE DEPENDENT UPON THE SPECIFICMANUFACTURERS SYSTEM. THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SUPPLIER MUST NOTIFY THEOTHER APPROPRIATE SUB-CONTRACTORS ABOUT THESE REQUIREMENTS ANDCONNECTION MUST BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE PROJECT.

FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT SURVIVAL: A SMOKE DETECTOR IS REQUIRED AT ALLCONTROL PANEL LOCATIONS (I.E. FIRE ALARM PANEL, NOTIFICATION EXTENDERPANELS, TRANSMITTERS, ETC.). CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE SYSTEM SMOKEDETECTORS FOR ALL LOCATIONS OF FIRE ALARM PANELS, TO INCLUDE THOSESHOWN AND THOSE THAT ARE ADDED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THEIR SPECIFICDESIGN.

CONDUIT: ALL ADDED FIRE ALARM/MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM WIRING MUST BEINSTALLED IN CONDUIT (EMT MINIMUM). EXISTING EMT MAY BE REUSED WHERE ITSATISFIES REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 70.

CONDUIT SEALS: PROVIDE CONDUIT SEAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFAP 70 300.7 TORACEWAYS EXPOSED TO DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES.CONDUCTORS: ALL CONDUCTORS MUST BE REPLACED WITH NEW.

INTELLIGIBILITY LEVEL: CONTRACTOR MUST VERIFY INTELLIGIBILITY LEVEL BYMEASUREMENT AFTER INSTALLATION OF 0.7 CIS FOR NAVY AND MARINE CORPPROJECTS. COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TEST INSTRUMENTATION MUST BE USED TOMEASURE INTELLIGIBILITY AS SPECIFIED BY IEC 60849 AND IEC 60268-16. THE MEANVALUE OF AT LEAST THREE READINGS MUST BE USED TO COMPUTE THEINTELLIGIBILITY SCORE AT EACH TEST LOCATION.

1. THE FACP IS AN EXISTING COMBINED FIRE ALARM ANDMASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM IN THE CHAPEL BUILDING17. PROVIDE NEW SUB-PANEL FACP IN BUILDING 17A ANDNETWORK BACK TO THE EXISTING FACP IN BULDING 17.

2. THE NETWORKED FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEMIS TO BE FULLY COMPLIANT WITH THE CURRENTEDITIONS OF UFC 3-600-01, UFC 3-600-10N, UFC 4-021-01,AND NFPA 72 FOR A FIRE ALARM AND AN EMERGENCYVOICE ALARM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM ISDESIGNED TO INTERFACE WITH THE SITE MNS.

3. THE FACP MUST BE CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING 10 VOLTSROOT MEAN SQUARED (VRMS), 25 VRMS, 70.7 VRMSAND/OR LINE LEVEL (.707 VRMS) AUDIO INPUTS.

4. FACP MUST BE CONFIGURED TO ACCEPT DRY CONTACTINPUT FROM AN EXTERNAL INTERFACE TO ALERT THEFIRE ALARM PANEL THAT A MNS MESSAGE ISFORTHCOMING. THE FIRE ALARM PANEL MUST BECONFIGURED SO THAT WHILE THIS INPUT IS ACTIVE(CONTACT CLOSED) THE FIRE ALARM PANEL MUSTROUTE AUDIO PROVIDED BY THE MNS INTERFACEDIRECTLY TO ALL CONNECTED FIRE ALARM SPEAKERS.THE SYSTEM MUST BE PROGRAMMED SO THIS EXTERNALAUDIO INPUT WILL RECEIVE HIGHEST PRIORITY ANDOVERRIDE ALL FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION SO LONG ASTHE INPUT IS ACTIVE. CONTRACTOR MUSTPROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT AND LABOR REQUIRED TOCONNECT THE NEW FIRE ALARM AND DETECTIONSYSTEM TO THE BASE'S SUPERVISING STATION. WAVESSYSTEM TRANSCEIVER TO BE PROVIDED BY THEGOVERNMENT.

6. DACT MUST BE CONFIGURED TO TRANSMIT SIGNALS INCONTACT ID FORMAT.

7. SIGNALS TRANSMITTED OVER THE PRIMARY ANDSECONDARY MEANS OF TRANSMISSION MUST BE POINTSPECIFIC WITH EACH ADDRESS AND CONDITIONINDICATED AT THE FIRE ALARM PANEL TRANSMITTEDSEPARATELY. ALL FIRE ALARMS, SUPERVISORY ALARMS,AND TROUBLE CONDITIONS MUST BE TRANSMITTED TO
