Hundreds of lives have been touched by the vision of a group of mountain community leaders and volunteersto increase the local college
attendance of mountain
communities residents. With
single-minded purpose, they
assembled an enthusiastic band
of about three dozen influential
mountain residents to take
charge of fundraising for student
scholarships to attend Cal State
San Bernardino, generating
tremendous results.
Since 2003, Neale and Patricia
Perkins, along with the energetic
volunteers, have raised funds by
holding elegant, invitation-only
events at their Lake Arrowhead
home. More than 100 students
have benefitted, as have their
communities, through the
CSUSB graduates who return
home to start careers.
Neale Perkins’ longstanding
leadership has served to bring
the university closer to the
mountain communities.
We invite you to join us
in helping to grow the
opportunities for our local
students.

“My gratitude for your contribution will always be appreciated,
not just today, but in the future as well. When you grant

a single person, but thousands.”

“I cannot begin to express how grateful
I am in receiving this scholarship. My
plan after obtaining my Bachelor’s
degree is to pursue a Ph.D. in
Economics. With no immediate family
in the U.S., and no financial support
from family, I can now direct all my
attention and energy toward my
academic goals.”
– Catherine Ou, Economics
“I would like to thank you for the scholar-
ships throughout my academic career at
CSUSB. Your financial support has greatly
assisted me in furthering my collegiate
career in completing my degree in
Criminal Justice.”
– Donald Anastasi, Criminal Justice
“Through the generosity of the Mountain Com-
munities Scholarship, I have been given the op-
portunity to expand my knowledge and have
experienced tremendous personal and
professional growth.”
