EXISTING TREE WATERING

RECOMMENDED WATERINGEXISTING TREES 2 PLUS YEARS AFTER PLANTING / DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE RANGE

Every time a tree is watered, the soil should be thoroughly saturated to a depth of at least 2 to 3 feet and at least as wide as the tree well. Immediately after planting, new trees should be watered daily for the first 2 to 3 days, then use the appropriate schedule, depending on time of year / temperature. Very slow and deep watering is always recommended. During periods where daytime temperatures near 100º, we advise at least 1 additional time per week of watering for all varieties. These watering schedules are based on average conditions in the area. They should be followed for at least the first 2 years after planting. Fertilizing! One month after planting begin regular fertilizing with Moon Valley’s custom blended fertilizers and nutrients, which are available at any of our locations or may be purchased online.
