“FLIR images were taken of possible Bigfoot on Aug. 3rd, 2019
during my team’s first night investigation. The first coming three
images were taken on the top trail of the ridge looking towards the
powerlines and marsh area south west. We were walking west on
the trail. “
“The "creature" was moving around and then squatted or laid down. Whatever was there did not show up to our flashlights but
we could see in the thermal imager. “
“The second two images are on a second creature that was on the North West side of the trail about 15-20 feet in from us. It stood with
its right shoulder and leg partially behind a tree you can make out
as the white object vertical in the image. “
“The last enhanced image is the same only blown up to make out
details easier. Unfortunately our thermal camera does not have
video but I do have the full video and audio of both and other
encounters recorded on our go-pro.”
“Photos and more information will be released on our Facebook

it. I worked on it for 10 hours last week Sunday and only got 15 min

“You can view the video when completed at

Behind us you can see is a pointed hill, which I am convinced is a
pyramid that nature has taken back. A Racine County police
officer reported to me that while parked in this parking lot, a
strange green mist came out of the swam towards his car. When it
got close, his car experienced electrical problems such as his lights
being shut off along with his car phone and communication
devices. When the mist left, everything went back to normal

Warps VS Vortices and Paranormal Hotspots
Sources: Mary Sutherland, Haunted Burlington Wisconsin
Joshua Warren, How to Hunt Ghosts- A Practical Guide
While attending one of
my conferences in
Burlington, our friend
Stanton Friedman,
helped me ‘somewhat’
to understand the
strange phenomena we
experience in the woods
outside of Burlington,
Wisconsin. Our place
was not ‘just a vortex’
nor ‘just a hotspot’… it
was a ‘warp’ which in his words “Defies the Laws of Physics we
have today!” Well that was simple wasn’t it! But actually warps
are the most complexed phenomenon frustrating scientists today.
As Friedman explained to me, warps are areas where the
conventional laws of physics break down. Joshua Warren
elaborates more on the phenomenon by explaining these areas
as places where linear time does not apply.
Kat Holm’s etheric body coming out of her physical body for time
and dimensional travel
A Sutherland Production
Warps are often filled
with entities – sometimes
hundreds or thousands of
them. By distorting
space/time, warps may
create natural portals.
These are the ‘doorways’
through which an entity
is able to materialize, or
gain some kind of
physical access, more
easily. Generally, these
entities are also able to manufacture more strength due to the
‘thinned veil’ of the area.
It is difficult to define warps, since the range of their manifestations
can be completely foreign and unpredictable. They are sort of a
paranormal catchall. For that reason, it’s easy for some to frown
upon them. They are difficult to define. Warps are not active all
the time, and the conditions necessary to ‘trigger’ their activity is a
mystery.
Warps exemplify the most complicated issues facing science
today. They are uunpredictable areas that can twist perceptions
beyond the understanding of logic. These are places where time
stops, reverses itself, plunges forward or has no sense of direction
at all. They can distort all our ideas about how reality functions. Up
can become down, and inside can become outside.
Legends E-Magazine
16
You can hallucinate, or find that the environment around you has
changed for an unmeasurable period. There can be an
unbelievable amount of electromagnetic energy, or surprising no energy at all. They are locations infested with entities, imprints,
and a barrage of other paranormal activity.
There have been times when visitors have experienced looking at
themselves from another dimension.
Warps defy the laws of physics. They are rare but once one is located
they become popular quite quickly. People are thrilled by the idea of
going to a location where almost ‘anything’ can happen, including this
author. The Bermuda Triangle is one and most of you are familiar with
the phenomenon that
happens in that area, so
I will share instead the
1980s story of Rick
Stratton.
Rick, a television crew technician in his twenties and a friend rented a cottage deep in the New England countryside. The
secluded house was built by Moravian settlers in the 1800s. He enjoyed living there for several weeks and experienced nothing out of the usual. One night, he walked in the kitchen to get a drink. When he
A Sutherland Production
stepped through the doorway, he was immediately
shocked. The kitchen looked completely different. The entire
room appeared ‘old-fashioned’. But strangest of all, a man sat at the table eating, and a woman stood over the sink.
They were both dressed in antiquated garbs. The old man
and woman looked at Rick and their eyes popped wide in surprise, as if they were seeing a ghost. Rick stared at them
for a few seconds, each person speechless. Then they
vanished, and the kitchen went back to normal. This kind of experience isn’t a simple entity case. That’s
because the entire room was different. I t isn’t an imprint,
since the man and woman were conscious of the observer and reacted to his presence. So, what phenomenon was
this you may ask? I t is what we call a ‘Time Slip’ which we
experience regularly in the woods of Burlington. This means that it seemed like two moments in time, one in the 1800s
and one in his present time.
Joshua Warren explains, “If a location is haunted by an entity,
certain earmarks are exhibited. The activity will be spontaneous,
erratic and interactive. If it’s an imprint, it will be nonconscious,
predictable and oblivious”.
“However, it sometimes seems like the location ‘itself’ has
something to do with the ghostly activity. The earth is not a perfect
sphere. In fact it’s shaped sort of like a pear. Because of this, it
wobbles on its path of orbit. Basically it’s far from a perfectly
balanced body in space. The earth’s magnetic field corresponds
with the planet’s physical form. Since the earth is not balanced,
neither is its field. It therefore seems logical that some places on
the planet are subjected to unusual geomagnetic activity, greater
or lesser than the rest of the earth. This doesn’t even take into
consideration the magnetic fields caused by physical stress on
*fault lines. Different parts of the surface are also affected in
unique way based upon their position in relation to the sun. The sun hurls massive bursts of radiation at the earth, and some places are
more, or less, affected by that as well.”
“It is rare to find a strong warp, but if you do, it can provide a
lifetime of research material, which this author can testify too.
Oftentimes, sacred locations are thought to be warps, especially
those chosen by the ancient Celts and Egyptians. Some even
Legends E-Magazine
18
believe pyramids were built to ‘create’ warps. The idea is that such
structures, by name of their design, manipulate energies. You may
have heard of ‘pyramid power’. Throughout history, various
inventors and manufacturers have claimed you can sharpen a dull
razor blade by placing it beneath a cardboard pyramid. Plants
beneath the shape are said to grow fuller and stored meat
decomposes more slowly. Hanging a cardboard pyramid over
your bed is thought to incite vivid dreams.”
You can study more about the warp area of Burlington, which I have researched for years. I try to share everything with all those interested in this phenomenon. To learn more, a good start is to join my Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/hauntedwoodstours or go to my website at www.burlingtonnews.net/hauntedtours.html For now, here is a piece of advice for all you vortex hunters. When you find a Warp, be prepared for anything!

The Hill of the Dead
"Oh, Wisconsin, beneat h your feet is an ocean of
bones...."
"They (railroad crews) knocked the top off of the small
hill called Butte Des Morts. It was full of skeletons. Tracks were laid across the cut and the combined bones and
rock became the track bed." –
Excerpt from a diary description of the 19th century decapitation
of a section of "The Hill of the Dead” (Butte Des Morts) on the shore
of Little Lake Butte Des Morts in Neenah. Wisconsin
The hill is reputed to hold the piled up corpses of Fox Indians killed
during a battle against the French and their Indian Allies in the
Fox/French Wars. More likely, the hill had been part of a long
standing burial ground and contained the bones of the ancient
mound builders. Mounds are everywhere; their remains may be
beneath your feet right as you read this. In the mid to late 19th
century countless mounds were plowed over by farmers. Road
crews crushed bones into aggregate for road and railroad beds.
It's safe to say that all of Wisconsin's primary roads contain
shattered bits of the bones of the ancient dead.

The Mysteries of the Caves along the Wisconsin
River –
Boaz - Gotham – Muscoda – Aztalan
By Mary Sutherland
According to my writings in the 'RED HAIRED
GIANTS’ and the 'RED RECORDS' the above map
would be correct, except that prior to the
Anishinabe migration, there were those already
living here, known as the T-legwi (Allegwi) and
described as mound builders . Waasekom Niin
references this as the Anishinabe Migration and
reports that their stories were documented in oral
A Sutherland Production
form, before the written word.
www.burlingtonnews.net/books.html
These mysteries surround the numerous caves of the region
round about Gotham. Some of these caves have been found to
be small, while others are found to be hundreds of feet long with
ceilings far above one's head. Some like Big Eagle cave are filled
with beautiful crystalline deposits, containing stalactites and
stalagmites in abundance. One need not go to Kentucky to go
caving.
At Gotham the Pine River flows down from the north and
enters the Wisconsin River, babbling as it does so, of the curious
natural rock bridge under which it flows well up into Richland
County. At one time, at the junction of these two rivers was a
rather large village home to the Winnebago Indians. The
beginning, according to the native population, dated back to an
unknown time.
According to one of their legends, in the far dim past of this
tribe, so long ago that the exact time has long since been lost to
memory, three adolescent Indian boys left their village to hunt
Legends E-Magazine
22
deer in the hills. After failing to return back to their village for two
days and fearing that they may have been captured by hostile
‘Sac’ Indians, the chief of the tribe Tcaxcepxedega (Great Eagle)
sent a band of warriors to follow their trail. The trail led to the head
of a deep ravine and ended at the mouth of a cave. Two or three
of the braves made torches and entered the black cavern,
leaving the others outside, awaiting their return. With sun
beginning to sink, the braves began calling down into the cave for
their return. As the callers strained to listen, they were perplexed
and amazed to hear, very faintly, as though it came from the ends
of the earth, the “Death Song of an Indian”. It was strangely
beautiful, yet far beyond anything they had ever heard before.
Soon, however, the lure of the song grew into a feeling of
uneasiness. Of the remaining eight of their band of warriors, six
grasped their weapons and ventured into the cave. They, too did
not return.. The sun was all but gone in the west and to the
straining ears of the waiting pair the only thing heard was the faint
Indian Song of Death.
With increased anxiety and fear, the remaining two hurried
their way back to their village. The next day Great Eagle, led 100
braves to the cave. The main body stayed outside, while 30
warriors and five torch bearers cautiously slid into the great black
hole. Soon thereafter their lights disappeared as did all sound from
them. There was no answer back to those calling for them outside
the cave, except echoes of their own voices and the distinctive lull
of the Indian Song of Death.
In desperation Great Eagle formed his men in a human
chain, hand clutching hand. The first man led them courageously
into the cavern. He had gone but a short distance when the
second man suddenly realized that his hand, which but a moment
before had held that of the leader, was clutching nothing! Quickly
he reached forward, but just as quickly the hand of the third man
was lost to the hand of the second. There had not been the sound
of a fall or of any violence; in terror the human chain drew back
out of the cave.
Great Eagle held a council. Perhaps what a hand could
not hold a tout rope could, Great Eagle reasoned, as he tied the
end of a stout rope most securely around the waist of a volunteer.
He was to jerk the rope as he proceeded in, and to be pulled out
by the men on the outside as soon as his jerking ceased.
A Sutherland Production
In he went. He had not gone far when his jerks on the rope
ceased. As quickly as lightning the men hauled in the rope. But
there came out of the cave only an empty loop, tied just as it had
been when put around the man. The man had vanished. There
was not a mark on the rope.
A ghostly terror settled upon the people in the ravine, and
in the stark silence of their fear they heard again the strains of the
Song of Death. Great Eagle forbade anyone from going near the
cave, an edict which didn’t need any enforcement. Except for
the foolhardy, few led by too curious a spirit who dared to
investigate, never to return.
Now after many moons there came one day from out of
the forest a man the like of whom had never been seen before. His
skin was pale and soft, his hair white and silken, and a great white
beard reached to his waist. He was utterly blind and understood
not the tongue of the Winnebago nor was he understood by
them. He was led by an Indian boy of 10 summers, with a longing,
faraway look in his eyes too old for his years. This Indian boy looked
identically like one of those who had first gone into the cave even
the mother claiming him for her own, but the boy maintained he
came from a tribe far to the northwest. This boy acted also as the
old man's interpreter.
It was soon evident that the strange man with the long beard was
a great healer with powers far beyond those of any medicine man
of the tribe. In a comparatively short time, because of his unusual
skill, power and kindness, he was called The Great Healer; by the
Winnebago and revered by everyone.
One day Great Eagle told the Great Healer, through the
boy, his interpreter, of the cave of the Indian Song of Death.
Lead me to this cave, said the blind healer.
And Great Eagle led him to the ravine, with all the people
following and forming a great semi-circle about the mouth of the
cave. Not a sound disturbed the forest as all eyes watched the
Great Healer and his youthful guide walk slowly and deliberately
down into the darkness.
Again there came the Song of Death, but louder now and
closer it seemed, so that the leaves of the trees stirred to and fro to
its rhythm. All the warriors in the assembly nervously fingered their
weapons. The footsteps of the two going into the cave finally died
Legends E-Magazine
24
out and with a suddenness that filled the ravine with an alarming
silence, the Song of Death stopped.
Then, faintly at first, but gradually louder, the sound of
footsteps came from the cave, until, after an endless minute, the
lone figure of the Great Healer issued from the cave. His eyes were
closed and a beautiful, calm and serene smile delicately touched
his lips.
He stopped, lifted his face and arms towards the sun
whose slanting evening rays filtered down through the leaves and
in an unknown tongue he sang the Song of Death; while he
walked slowly and deliberately toward the river, with the people
following him.
At the river's edge he stepped into a canoe, and without a
paddle the canoe swung into the river and carried the Great
Healer, to where no one knew, never to be seen again.
Several days later, a brave, bolder than his companions, ventured
into the silent cave. To the amazement of his comrades who had
tried to prevent his entrance, he came out again saying that he
had followed the cavern until it became so low that he would
have been forced to crawl had he gone farther.
With another companion he again entered and this time the two
crawled on hands and knees until they reached a gigantic room.
After lighting a torch their light revealed the skeletons of hundreds
of Indians, lying face downward with arms outstretched toward a
gigantic throne formed in the far wall. The great throne was
empty.
In terror the two Indians returned to the outer light and told
their story. Great Eagle and his council surmised that the cave was
sacred to some great spirit and they decreed that the cavern
entrance be closed with dirt and rocks. After a few generations
knowledge of its location perished among the Indians and after a
few more generations even the story of the cave was lost, saved
by a certain few story loving warriors of the forest. Centuries later,
in 1848, the town of Richland City, now no longer extant, was
founded on the site of the ancient Winnebago city. Then in 1891,
by accident as it were, a citizen of Milwaukee while reading the
Courier, a newspaper of Vienna, Austria, came upon an article
written by an Austrian scientist. [The following is that article.]
A Sutherland Production
“One morning in the spring of 1887 I received in my mail a
letter postmarked Richland City, Wis., U. S. A. It was from Paul
Seifert, whom I had known at school. He wrote that he had gone
to America, landed in New York, drifted to northern Wisconsin,
floated down the Wisconsin river on a raft and become
acquainted with a German living at Richland City. He had married
this man's beautiful daughter, was living very happily and had four
daughters. So we renewed our friendship by letter.”
“I asked Paul in one of my letters whether he could send
me some relics of the American aborigines. In a very short time I
received a package. It contained most magnificent relics of
American prehistoric times.”
“In 1891 I paid him a visit and finally the last day of my visit
came. It was a beautiful moonlight night. I spoke to Paul about his
promise to show me the place where he had found the relics. He
said, 'Will you promise to follow me where I lead?' My reply was, 'I
shall be your shadow.'”
“... Darkness and damp air surrounded us. Paul lit another
torch. I cannot describe the horror I felt. The bottom of the cave
was covered with skeletons of a vanished race. Skulls were
everywhere. Here perished a tribe; very near I could say, a nation.
Their belongings were scattered among the bones; Battle axes of
stone, ancient pottery, whole and in fragments, flint arrows and
spears, whole and broken, everywhere.”
“'Here,' said Paul 'is the mine of the relics I have sent you.'
Now I understand his remark, 'The chills ran down my back.' How
true. Here on a shelf of stone I found a beautiful quartzite spear
beside the bones of a human hand.”
“So we went along the cave until we entered another
passageway, beginning to hear a curious noise. As we went
farther it sounded louder, more and more so, until it sounded like
the howling of a lot of maniacs and the moaning of the dying
under torture. I asked Paul to tell me, for the love of heaven, what
it was making that terrible noise. He said that it was the falling
waters and the rushing of the wind through the crevices above. All
at once I saw a blue light flicker here and there. It came nearer
and nearer. I could not stand it any longer. 'Oh, how horrible, oh,
Paul let us get out of here.'”
Legends E-Magazine
26
“So we retraced our steps through the cave of the dead,
passed on back to the long rope, climbed up, passed through
cave and passage, till we stood once more in the open air.
Conjecture if you will whether this be the cave of the legend.
Seifert admitted to representatives of the state historical society
that there was such a cave but he refused consistently to tell its
location, saying that 'No one will ever find the cave. I have
planted grass and bushes to grow over its mouth.'”
“A neighbor of Seifert, hearing a loud blast on the bluff
many years ago, climbed the hill and found Seifert blasting. On
inquiry Seifert said 'There was a hole in the rocks here and I was
afraid boys might fall into it sometime, so I have closed it up.'
Dr. John Booher, Jr., Richland Center, and Tom Lewis, Watertown,
hoping that this may have been the entrance to the mystery
cave, sank a shaft on the spot in September, 1929, but found no
possible opening to a cave.”
In investigating the effigy mounds of Frank’s Hill near Muscoda
which is not far from Gotham, I have heard the local legends of
caves with buried treasures of the Ancient Ones. Many have
looked for this lost cave but none have found it. A lot of these
caves have caches of valuables left untouched. Read the
following article by Professor Bill and he will share even more of
these mystery caves and the transporting of treasures.

Montezuma's Treasure in Illinois and Aztecs in
Wisconsin
By Bill Matteson aka Professor Bill
Professor Bill and Mary Sutherland met years ago when he came
to our Café, to interview Mary on ‘Haunted Burlington’ for a
segment on a television show he hosted. We have been friends
since and shared many stories through the years. Bill is a
contributor writer for ‘Legends Magazine’
This story took a long time forming in my mind and it comes
to me from various sources.
I am blessed with or cursed with the type of mind that
remembers certain things That I have read, heard or experienced
and over the years find little cubby holes to tuck themselves aw ay
in… then on a given day, a little more of the story filters in, then
inside the mind is a blinding explosion, the light comes on and the
story pops out.
I always considered myself some kind of an authority on
American Folk lore, folk song and American history, One Sunday

weekend of drinking with just enough fishing thrown in so we could
truthfully tell our wives that we indeed went fishing. Looking back I
don't think she ever believed me anyway.
Driving south on Highway 26 coming into Johnson Creek Wi
I found a grill/cafe open, stopped in and ordered 2 cheeseburgers
and a large bottle of coke to go. I drove a little further and saw a
sign that read Aztalan State Park 2 miles, so I pulled in and parked
in the lot, wolfed down the cheeseburgers and half the coke
along with two aspirins and in about 20 minutes I made a
miraculous recovery.
Photo is of an elongated skull found at
Aztalan during excavation.
It was then I started to look around, and
noticed a large wooden wall, looking very
similar to an Army fort, so I walked up to a
large Brass placard that read (as best as my
memory can do) that sometime in and
around the 1500's a strange band of Indians
appeared, built this structure and covered all
the walls with adobe. Inside the walls were
two flat topped earth pyramids. They lived
there for about 40 years until the local Indians
wiped them out, due to cannibalism and
their strange religious practices which included Human sacrifice.
Walking around inside the compound, I noticed that it was indeed
an Aztec layout, right down to the communal ovens and the
beehive storage bins.

I later walked through their little museum and saw a lot of Aztec
artifacts including Obsidian daggers used in Aztec rituals. I saw
pictures of the "Beaded Princess" a female skeleton covered in
beads made of shells from the
Gulf of Mexico.
Our historians said this plus the
obsidian dagger was proof
that the Indian barter system
worked.
Montezuma
Walking back to my car, the light went on... what was
happening in America in 1500? Cortez was sacking Mexico in
1540...This bloodthirsty Spaniard was stealing everything he could
and killing everyone in his way, Montezuma tried to buy him off.
Well we all know how that worked out!
Our historians claim the Montezuma transported his
treasure overland into New Mexico, maybe even as far north 2000
miles to the Kiyab Mountains in Utah. (Why they figure that is
beyond my comprehension)
Legends E-Magazine

Now the Aztecs did not use the wheel, they had no carts or
wagons; they didn't even use burros, so if they had to transport
something from point A to point B they had to carry it. (Today in
Africa the porter on Safari can carry no more than 60 lbs.)
Montezuma could not afford any man power for the
carrying of two pyramids full of treasure overland, it would take his
total population of men, slaves and soldiers. He needed every
available man to stay and fight these strange men with hair on
their face, riding on great beasts, wearing shiny heavy clothing,
carrying sticks that shot fire and roared like thunder and men fell
over with holes in them.
But Montezuma had an ace in the hole and he played it.
He had control of the coastal tribes, less than 60 miles away, 20 to
30 foot canoes, maybe bigger. 10 paddlers each side plus at least
a ton of cargo, let’s say he used 10 canoes... ten tons of golden
Aztec artifacts… Now we have 200 paddling total and 10 slaves
each for a total of 300
Let me fast forward here to 1679 Marquette and Joliet
were on a map making quest, mapping the Wisconsin and
Mississippi rivers
Their route was from Green Bay to The Fox to a place at
Portage were they walked over to the Wisconsin River and then to
the Mississippi River down to the Ohio and then back up to the
Illinois River ,up the Illinois to Lake Michigan following the Lake
around back to Green Bay, WI.
It was on the way down the
Mississippi that they were
warned by local tribes not to
go any further, as there
were Evil spirits demons and
monsters and they would be
eaten. But believing God on
their side, they kept going
until they came to a spot
called Paisa Creek near the
present site of Alton IL and there on the side of a sheer Palisade
was a painting, in bright colors Greens, blues, purple, yellow. For
some strange reason Marquette thought that the painting
although still bright was at least 150 years old...
A Sutherland Production
In questioning the local tribes, this story unfolded.
Note the Native American Indian , not having that technology, did
not paint in those colors. They did not have that technology
"Years ago in my grandfather’s time strange warriors
appeared and Buried their God in a cave within the palisades and
painted the picture as a warning to keep away least you wander
inside and awaken the God and you will be eaten" and It is true
because my very own grandfather was walking the trail back to
his Village and it was sleeting and raining and very cold, so
grandfather found his way into a small opening .he found some
brush and chipped a fire for warmth, it was then he realized he
was not in a small opening but in the entrance way to a large
cavern. He built a touch and walked in, what he saw shocked him
and he ran all the way to the village. What he saw was wall to wall
human bones. Before he ran he did manage to cover the
entrance with some rocks so other unfortunate braves could not
wander in.”
Somewhere in the mid-sixties I researched a song from west
central Illinois about a boogie bird that the settlers threaten their
kids with if they wouldn't behave Today the Paisa Bird has been
repainted, but about 5 miles south of its original position because
the government blew up a lot of the Palisades to make the Great
River Road.
So now the lights in my head are on and the story unfolds.

Mid 1500's Cortez is sacking Mexico, Montezuma gets his
gold to the coastal tribes who transport it up the Mississippi past
the Ohio to the Paisa Creek, they carry their gold in, paint the
picture on the wall of their God as a warning.
Their God had an alligator body, Eagle wings, a scorpion
tail, the face and fangs of a tiger. Now all the gold is in and the
slaves are no longer useful, so they kill them in the cave so their
spirits can guard the gold. They get back to their canoes and a
have a meeting. It probably went something like this, but because
I can't talk ancient Aztec and you most likely can’t understand it I
will use modern terminology.
“OK guys… lets hop in the canoes and paddle back to
help Monty fight these strange looking dudes.”
“Not me Man I'm all for heading the other way. I broke two
war clubs on one dude’s head and it didn't faze him at all!”
They paddle up the Mississippi River, a little further past the
Illinois River to the Rock River up the Rock into Wisconsin to the
Crawfish River, turn left two miles and there it is - Aztalan.
Mexico City to Aztalan Wisconsin all navigable by water!
I went back to Aztalan twenty years later I looked for the
Brass Placard and it wasn't there. As I walked around inside the
compound everything was different. All signs posted talked about
early tribes that lived there in about 1000 to 1100AD. Thinking I was
a little nuts I went into the Museum and asked the curator about
the Placard.
According to the curator’s story, it "seems that 10 years ago
a group on Native American Indians saw the Placard and
demanded it be taken down because the Native American Indian
never practiced Cannibalism and never did human sacrifices, and Aztecs never were in their area. The State of Wisconsin bowed to
the pressure and took down the sign and put up another.
Now I am pissed that we have to change history just so we
won't upset a certain sect of people. The Curator, with a smile,
said “I feel your pain. Call this number, the sign is in the basement
of a museum in Madison.” Bill Matteson, Harvard IL

Over the hill from Muscoda,, near where the Wisconsin
River meets the Mississippi runs a serpentine river called the
Kickapoo. This river winds up through the Kickapoo Valley into
Crawford County… and it was here, in a small hollow, known as
Crow Hollow, ancient tools were discovered, dating back to
approximately 3,000 B. C.
Situated on the west highland of the Kickapoo River, about
30 miles northeast of Prairie du Chien, an ancient site was found,
housing copper tools dating to 4,000 B.C. From the Crawford
County dating they were thought to have been made and used
approximately 5,000 years ago. These same type of tools were
found in Northern Wisconsin as well.
Crow Hollow site, when discovered and excavated,
consisted of a grand or outer circle, enclosing pentagonal or five
angled walls, seven truncated mounds of various dimensions and
a small inner circle.

and sacred sites of the Kickapoo Valley,
along with an article of The Garden of
Eden in Trempealeau County, found
over the hill from Gays Mills, then towards
La Crosse, along the Great Mississippi
River Road.
Although most of it has now been defaced by the ravages
of time, parts of it may yet be traced. The outer circle was more
than twelve hundred feet in circumference; the wall was from
three to five feet in height with a general base diameter of twelve
to sixteen feet.
During the 1800's the walls still retained near perfect form
ranging from four to six feet in height. The smaller inner circle could
be dimly traced, with its greatest elevation noted as
approximately twelve inches. The five small mounds within the
pentagon, between it and the small circle, seemed to the
observer to have their original form, equal in height to the wall. The
bastion within the entrance of the outer circle was somewhat
larger than those found within the pentagon and its form
appeared to be yet near perfect.
The central mound was said to have been about thirty-six
feet in diameter and still retained a small finish. It was found to be
nearly flat on the summit with a slight depression at the center.
The singular arrangement of the earthwork was built as a
sacred national altar where the rituals of human sacrifice were
practiced. The summit of the central mound still retained the
traces of fire, containing the remains of burned clay, charcoal and

ashes. Remains of the same deposit were found near the surface
of five flat mounds adjacent to and south of the main structure,
with the deposits being more abundant in the central mound,
than in the other four.
The central mound was held as the most holy sacrificial
altar known to tradition; and the peculiar form of the surrounding
works show it to have been of the highest order of sacrificial
monuments, dedicated to the offering of human sacrifice only.
Recognized as the representative of all five senses, the head was
the only thing used for this particular offering. It was considered the
highest and holiest of all offering known to the ancient sacrificial
service.
According to their tradition, the human sacrifice was
offered at this altar twice a year. One ceremony was given to the
sun and the other ceremony given to the moon.
The sun, being the great fountain of light and life through
all creation, was supposed to hold the supreme power of the
universe, and as supreme ruler, to be worthy of the highest and
holiest adoration.
The moon was adored as the goddess. She was supposed
to be assisted in her government by a great serpent, whose form
was recognized in the circle that sometimes surrounds her orb,
believed to have special charge of refractory spirits.
The great altar of sacrifice was regarded as the 'holy of
holies' or inner sanctuary and no foot save that of a prophet could
pass within the sacred walls of the pentagon, after its completion.
Being that the prophets had supreme control of this sanctuary,
they resided on the mounds, in the vicinity and immediately
adjacent to the work.
The five small mounds within the pentagon were
denominated oracular mounds; and one being set apart to each
prophet, they frequently retired there to receive oracular counsels,
which, from the summit of the mound at the entrance to the great
circle, they subsequently delivered to the people. The five
prophets set apart from this service were in continual
attendance… their wants being administered to by the people.
The times of offering sacrifice were in the spring and fall. An
offering was made to the sun in the spring, as soon as vegetation
began to put forth, with much feasting and great joy. The second
offering took place when the first willow showed its early leaves.
Legends E-Magazine

The elders of the nation assembled and considering it a privilege,
the oldest male would offer his head in sacrifice. (Also the male
might unite with others of his age and cast lots for the privilege.)
The human offering was taken to the tent of the senior prophet,
who, aided by his four junior associates, painted the face and
adorned his body with a covering of mistletoe, which was the
holiest and rarest of evergreens.
They would then conduct him to the oracular mound,
located at the entrance of the great circle. The elder prophet and
the sacrificial victim would ascend to its summit, and stand there
erect until the people were able to arrange themselves on the
summit of the wall. Meanwhile, the younger prophets would walk
around the mound and chant songs of sacrifice.
After the spectators were all arranged in an orderly fashion,
the senior prophet would take his sacrifice by the hand and
proceed around the circle and the pentagon, with the younger
prophets following behind, walking in pairs and chanting the dirge
of sacrifice.
The people on the wall would throw evergreens within the
circle at its inner base for the sacrifice to walk on, until the
procession had passed five times around the pentagon. Upon their
arrival at the oracular mound, at the termination of the fifth circuit,
the younger prophets would arrange themselves around its base.
While the senior prophet and the sacrifice ascended to the
summit, both standing erect, the prophet would give a signal for
universal silence by drawing forth the knife of sacrifice. The
prophet would then hand the knife to the sacrifice for him to kiss
and return. Upon returning the knife to the prophet, the sacrifice
would kiss the prophet’s hand. The prophet would then point the
knife to the sun while the sacrifice would lie himself flat down on
the summit of the mound with his face positioned upwards, gazing
at the ‘Great God of the Day’. Each of the younger prophets
would then seize a hand or foot and hold the sacrifice close to the
ground. The circle of spectators, who lined the outer wall, would
stand in perfect silence and wait for the consummation of the
sacrifice.
Severing the head from the body, the prophet would then
convey the bleeding head to the altar where he would lay it in a
position facing the sun. When this was done, the prophet would
descend to the inner circle where he would walk around the altar

until the younger prophets had arranged the fuel upon and about
the sacrifice. After this was accomplished, they would then set
themselves at the base of the altar. The senior prophet would then
ascend to the sacrifice and point his blood stained knife to the
sun, awaiting the return of some of the younger prophets who had
gone to his tent to each bring out a band of fire from the ‘holy
hearth’. With these, he would kindle the fuel and retire to the inner
circle where he would continue to walk around the altar, while the
other prophets fed the flame until the sacrifice was consumed.
As the fire burned, all those in attendance, on the summit
of the outer circle, would occasionally point with one hand to the
sun and the other to the altar, soliciting their god to receive the
sacrifice and bestow his blessings upon the nation.
The ceremonies would continue until the sun set, then all
would retire. Early the next morning, all would resume their position
on the circle and about the altar to salute the sun as it rose. If the
sky was clear and the sun rose bright, the fire was again lighted
and bountifully fed with fuel for several hours and then suffered to
burn without further supply.
When the sun reached the meridian, the prophets, having
gathered together the evergreens that were strewed at the base
of the circle, would place them on the fire allowing the smoke to
ascend to the sun as the national incense. After these had been
consumed, the senior prophet would uncover the body of the
victim and place the mistletoe on the coals, in order for the smoke
of this sacrifice to ascend as a sweet savor and disseminate the
principles of life that all may inhale and live.
The young prophets would then carry brands of the holy
fire to their tents. Each then conveyed a live coal to the tent of the
senior prophet, whose hearth alone must supply the fire used to
kindle the sacrificial fire for the holy altar. (The hearth fire is always
fed and never extinguished.)
If the sun raised clear, a portion of the sacrificial ashes were
delivered, along with the sacrificed body, to the friends or
relatives, for monumental commemoration. A part of the sacrifice
is reserved deposit by the prophet in the oracular mounds, to
secure intercourse with the dead.
If clouds obscured the rising sun the tribe considered this to
be an omen of some national calamity. Indicating disapprobation
of the sun, or his refusal to accept the sacrifice, the body was
delivered with wailing and the ashes were retained on the altar in
Legends E-Magazine

hopes that the sun may look upon them daily and thus are
propitiated. If the sun remained obscured for five successive days,
a second sacrifice was offered.
During these ceremonies, an unbroken fast was strictly
observed. In the event of a second offering, the nation was
required to fast for five days.
In autumn, immediately after the first blighting frost, the
same ceremonies were observed. But instead of an elderly male
being sacrificed to the sun god, two young virgin maidens were
offered to the moon goddess.
The prophets’ burial mounds were found to be twelve feet
long, four feet in depth and six in breadth. They were composed of
sand mixed with small bits of mica in the depth of two feet,
covered with white clay to the surface with a thin layer of surface
soil.

The Hopi Legend of the Ant People and
their Connections to the Anunnaki
By Mary Sutherland
The Hopi words for the Ant
People or Ant Friends (Anu
Sinom) create a direct link to
the stories of the Anunnaki. It
could be coincidental, but the
Babylonian sky god was named
Anu, which is the Hopi word
for ant. The word, Naki
translates to the Hopi as
'Friends'. Thus, Anu-Naki
translates in Hopi as 'Ant
People'.

Another strikingly similar word is the Hopi word sohu, meaning “star,”
and the Egyptian word sahu means “stars of Orion.” This constellation is
spoken about repeatedly around the world, along with Orio
n and other systems such as the Pleiades appearing over and over in the
layout of ancient structures.
To the Hopi, the Ant People were their saviors, taking them
underground and teaching them how to survive through two extreme
cataclysms. The Ant People taught them how to grow food with little
water and how to build dwellings in the rocks. they taught them about
the stars, planets and mathematics, agriculture and more.
Legends E-Magazine

When it was safe to return to the surface, the Ant People instructed the
building of incredibly complex habitations such as what is seen today at
Chaco Canyon. The structures included Kivas, a Hopi word for round
semi-subterranean ceremonial rooms that were entered by ladders
from above.
According to the National Park Service:
“During ceremonies today, the ritual emergence of participants from
the kiva into the plaza above represents the original emergence by
Puebloan groups from the underworld into the current world.”
Petroglyphs depicting the Ant People appear still appear today, and the
Hopi continue to tell the story in dances and rituals.
Ancient Origins elaborates on the legend:
I always found the following legend interesting because the story is so
similar to how Moses and his people were led out of Egypt to safety.
“During these two global cataclysms, the virtuous members of the Hopi
tribe were guided by an odd-shaped cloud during the day and a moving
star at night that led them to the sky god named Sotuknang, who finally
took them to the Ant People—in Hopi, Anu Sinom . The Ant People then
escorted the Hopi into subterranean caves where they found refuge and
sustenance.”
Stories that giants and other strange beings have lived deep inside the
Earth are seen around the globe. In the Hopi legend, these beings were
benevolent and helped the tribe even to their own detriment. I t is said
that the Ant People are portrayed as generous and industrious, giving
the Hopi food when supplies ran short and teaching them the merits of
food storage. Hopi legend states "The reason why ants have such thin
waists today is because they once deprived themselves of provisions in
order to feed the Hopi.”

The thin waisted ants with their elongated heads and antennae
resemble some of the ancient petroglyphs. Depictions of the Ant People
can be found in wall paintings that show an unmistakable similarity to
cuneiform symbols from ancient Sumeria. These symbols may also be
associated with the mysterious 'Wing Makers' around Chaco Canyon.
The Chaco Canyon settlement had thousands of Anasazi inhabitants,
who believed in protecting Mother Earth. However, the ancient
Puebloans mysteriously disappeared, along with any signs of the Ant
People. Some believe that the Anasazi integrated with tribes like the
Hopi, Zuni, and Rio Grande Pueblo. According to Scientific American, 14
skeletal remains were found in a burial crypt and are now housed at the
American Museum of Natural History in New York. The Natural History
Museum has yet to release the DNA test results for whom they call
'Queen Puabi'.

Ancient Astronaut theorists often speculate if extraterrestrial beings could play a part in helping humans overcome impending future disasters. In the

THE VAMPIRE GENE ... Chapter from my book “Lost in Time” by
Mary Sutherland. Purchase my book through the following website
http://www.burlingtonnews.net/books.html
The Vampire Gene...Due to the darkness, the underground
dwellers would have had a high level of Melatonin, which is
created and manufactured by the pineal gland and activated
through a chemical messenger called ‘serotonin’. Not only did
studies find Melatonin to enhance and boost the body’s immune
system but those with this high pineal activity and secretion was
less likely to develop cancerous diseases.
High Melatonin increases energy, stamina and physical tolerance.
(Those of you who have high melatonin are the night workers.) This
Melatonin substance is actually the body’s most efficient anti-
oxidant and produces positive mental and physical antiaging
properties. High melatonin production is directly related to sleep
patterns, keeping the body temperately regulated with properties
that operate through the cardiovascular system. Its name signifies
Legends E-Magazine
44
‘night worker’ and comes from the two Greek words Melos (black)
and Tosos (labor).
People with a high melatonin level work better at night, being that
sunlight affects their mental capability. It is called the ‘hormone of
darkness’ as is produced only at night or in the dark. Exposure to
an excess of sunlight makes the pineal gland smaller and lessens
spiritual awareness. Darkness along with a high level of pineal
gland activity enhances key intuition and knowledge of the subtle
mind, along with reducing stress.
Pineal comes from the word Pinerism, which was used to make
‘Frankincense’. Frankincense, symbolic of ‘gold’ or ‘kingship’, was
the substance of the Priesthood, along with a substance called
‘Muir’, which is now used as a sedative. Muir is symbolic of ‘death’
and the word death comes from the ancient word ‘Duff’ which
means ‘higher knowledge’. Gold signifies the kings. According to
the New Testament, the Magi presented Jesus with three gifts;
Gold, Frankincense and Muir. According to tradition, this signifies
that Christ was a ‘Priest King of the Messianic Dragon’ line – a
descendant of Cain.
Christ taught us that our pineal gland is impregnated by eternal
ideas and gives us the possibility of formulating our own
recognitions. It is the organ of thought, by which, we learn to
‘know’ the god within and to change eternal ideas into
preconceptions. The pineal gland receives and sends vibrations,
frequencies, thoughts and psychic phenomena… all traveling
through the gland frequencies.
It's been called the “Third Eye” "Eye of Wisdom" and the "Eye of
Inner Vision". It is said that spiritual people are able to perceive
through the use of their inner eye… an eye that cannot be
confused with physical pretenses and reacts to seeing truth and
knowing things. This is called the ‘Plane of Sharon’ or the ‘Plane of
the Orbit of Light’ or simply ‘The Plane of Knowing’...A dimension
that we can actually exist in… through the high production of
melonin.
According to the Yoga’s it’s the key to intuitive knowledge, giving
us the ability to act in knowing instead of merely believing. The
Illuminists and Rosicrucian refer to the pineal gland as ‘Ayin’, which
is symbolized by an ‘eye within a circle’. By putting a C or K in front
A Sutherland Production
of Ayin, we find the name Cain, which means “He of the Eye”.
From Cain comes the word King that was originally spelled with a
‘Q’ making the word ‘Qayan’, which makes it synonymous to the
word ‘Queen’, thus giving us a sovereign figure with the line
transferred through the female line. In the case of Jesus Christ, it
comes through the line of David which comes through the female
line of Sarah who was impregnated by the Anunnaki god Enki,
which will be discussed later in this book.
In the old tradition, the ultimate holders of the Malkhut were
known as Dragons or Pendragons, and the reigning head was
always known as Draco. The Christian Church later changed the
true significance of the Star Fire ritual and placed it into the realm
of dark Gothic legend. After the Anunnaki gods left, the Dragon
Blood was harvested from the human-god hybrid women, known
as Starfire Virgins, who lived in the sacred temples.
Although the consumption of the female blood and mumai was
the original purpose behind the practice, it seems that their
children carrying the bloodline may have been afflicted with a
gene disorder, known as ‘Porphyria Variegata’. Modern diagnosis
of people suffering from ‘Porphyria cutanea tarda’ has found their
skin to be pathologically sensitive. Exposure to light can cause
causes scarring, hair growth and disfiguration.
People having the ‘vampire genome’ (ppox gene) have been
diagnosed as being deficient in ‘four enzymes’. Not being able to
produce the enzymes in their own body, periodically these
enzymes need to be replenished from another source. For
thousands of years the ‘Starfire or Temple Virgins’ provided those
stricken with the deficiency. By feeding off the menstrual fluid of
the ‘Virgins’ they were able to obtain the four need enzymes, plus
serotonin and melatonin.
The Subterranean and Children of the bloodline seem to have
become highly addicted to these natural drugs found in human
blood and this may have been one of the reasons behind the
human sacrifice frenzy encouraged by Serpent Priests around the
world. Melatonin, for example, produced in the pineal gland and
released into the blood, acts as an endocrine hormone. It’s a
wonder drug of sorts, boosting the immune system and increasing
longevity. It can reduce the damage caused by some types of
Parkinson’s disease and plays a role in preventing cardia
arrhythmia. Melatonin has been touted by some as an anti-aging
Legends E-Magazine
46
agent following the results of an experiment done by an Italian
researcher who reported that in a laboratory experiment, older
mice appeared to grow younger and live longer after receiving
melatonin. Some evidence suggests that melatonin may, in fact,
lighten and enhance one's mood considerably. Melatonin is also
associated with the production of some of the strongest
hallucinogens known to man.
Another natural drug of choice was Serotonin, which is made in
the Pineal gland. Serotonin has similarities with smoked drugs such
as DMT and is associated with the hallucinogenic aspects of
dreaming, producing vivid and lifelike dreams and out of body
experiences. It can make one feel extreme levels of love, enhance
the sense that everything is connected and also enhance noises
and colors. Serotonin is essential to the body. The body cannot do
without it. A low serotonin metabolism is connected with
depression, crime, drug abuse, reckless behavior and suicides. And
low levels seem to be connected with bad and poor behavior
and leads to poor judgement. The brain craves DMT and
serotonin. It stimulates the mind. Over stimulation can lead to a
different set of problems. High levels can be associated with
schizophrenia, psychosis, mania, mood disorders, social
withdrawal, brain disease, autism, and Alzheimer’s disease as well
as blood disorders.
Porphyria have been detected in all races, mult iple ethnic groups
on every continent including Caucasians, Asians, Africans,
Peruvian/Mexican Hispanics, Native Americans, Laplanders and
Australian aborigines. There are also high incidence reports in
areas of India and Scandinavia. The Scandinavian source of
porphyria has been traced to the Sami, an indigenous people of
Finland who are noted for their shamanistic practices that include
sacrifice and dream weaving. Their language, as well as the
languages of Finland, Estonia, Hungary, Transylvania, and Romania
has ties to languages in small groups of Russians on both sides of
the Urals and are branches of Uralic languages and Altaic
languages.
The links between porphyria and mental illness have been noted
for decades. In the early 1950's patients with porphyria (also known
as Porphyria Hemophilia) showing severe symptoms of depression
or catatonia were treated with electroshock. The insanity exhibited
by King George III, evidenced in the regency crisis of 1788, inspired

several attempts at retrospective diagnosis. The first suggestion
that a physical illness was the cause of King George's mental
derangement came in 1966, in a paper "The Insanity of King
George III: A Classic Case of Porphyria", with a follow-up in 1968,
"Porphyria in the Royal Houses of Stuart, Hanover and Prussia".
It has also been imagined that King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon
suffered from some form of porphyria (Daniel 4). Several sources
on this disorder are the January 6 1968 British Medical Journal
(which had a 100 page article on vampirism), January 13 1968
British Medical Journal which had an additional 6 articles on
Vampirism and European Black Nobility. Dr. Martin Rohl also wrote
The Purple Secret and the website http://srs.sanger.ac.uk/ has
some more interesting work on the subject.
The Bennu Bird or Bird of Return and The Phoenix symbolizes this
gene disorder, describing the bird’s need to regenerate at regular
intervals. Vampire also bears an appellation that is named after
this process. In folklore the vampire is mistranslated as ‘one that
returns from the grave’ but instead should have been described as
‘one who returns to feed and regenerate.’
In the old tradition of the Dragon and Pen Dragons the ultimate
holders of the ‘Malcu’ became known as the ‘Princes of Darkness’
and proclaimed by the Church as ‘Vampires’. As detailed in
Bloodline of the Holy Grail, the brutal Catholic Inquisitions of the
Middle Ages set against all the church declared heretics that
supported the Messianic Blood Royal (the Sangréal) of the Dragon
Kings over the corrupted dogma of the bishops. Many of the
victims were classified as occultists and witches, and charged with
upholding the ancient and heretical cult of Draco, the Prince of
Darkness.
The book ‘Dracula’, written by Bram Stoker is a ‘book of codes’,
based off the alchemy secrets from the early ‘Mystery Schools’.
Bram Stoker was an officer in the ‘Emperor court of the Dragons’.
He was also a prominent officer in the ‘Ordo Templi Orientas’
which is the Order of the Eastern Temple, the most sacred and
scientific branch of any ‘Templar’ organization in the world. They
were originally with the ‘Essene’ blood brotherhood of Qumran
and their motto was ‘God is Man’.
As the story goes, back in the 15th century, a prominent
Chancellor of the Court was Prince Vlad III of Transylvania-
Wallachia, who built the citadel of Bucharest. Vlad was Count

Dracula, meaning 'son of Dracul' - a name by which his father was
known within the Court from 1431. Vlad was a prince of harsh
disciplines but the establishment's real fear of Dracula was not his
savage treatment of enemies (such things were commonplace
during this era) but his in depth knowledge of alchemy and the
ancient Star Fire customs. Having attended the Austrian School of
Solomon in Hermannstadt, he had an in-depth scientific
understanding of the bodily effects of melatonin and serotonin.
According to the Romanian annals, Vlad was also a high
melatonin producer adversely affected by sunlight. Consequently
the Transylvanian myth was born with Bram Stoker portraying him
as “The Prince of Darkness who drank the blood of virgins”.

The Vampire of Crogland Grange…
A true story
By Professor Bill Matteson
Croglin is a quiet picturesque village between the Pennines and
the River Eden, about 14 miles (23 km) south-east of Carlisle.
Croglin Grange was a small house located in the village of
Kirkoswald, Cambria, England; previously owned by the Fisher
family. Moving to Thorncombe, the Fishers rented the house to the
family Edward, Michael and Amelia Cranswell.
The Cranswells enjoyed the stay at Croglin and made many friends
in and about the Town until about 1875 when things took a turn to
the dark side. On one particular hot and muggy night Amelia went
to bed a little on the early side. She couldn't sleep so she pulled up
an easy chair near the window and watch the moonlight flicker
across the fields. It was here that she noticed two small lights
glowing in the distance, near the tree line between their yard and
the church yard.
She was soon to realize that these two small lights were actually
emanating from the eyes of the most hideous looking creature she
had ever seen. Frightened as she was, the creature held her
fascination in such a tight hold she could not scream.
When the creature walked around the house, she was able to
jump up out of her chair and run for the door. As she was
unlocking the door, she heard a scratching noise. She turned to
see a hideous being with leathery brown face and flaming eyes
removing the lead lining that separated the window glass. A pane
fell out as the creature reached in and unlocked the bay window.
Legends E-Magazine
50
Terrified she fell onto her bed. Now with Emilia unable to move, he
made his way to her bed, grabbed her by the hair, bent her head
back and sank his teeth deep into her neck.
As the vampire left, Emilia was finally able to scream, which
brought her brothers running into her room. They came in, just in
time to see the creature leave through the window and run into
the church yard.
They rushed her to the local doctor who treated the bite and after
a few days her brothers decided to take her to Switzerland for a
few weeks. As time went by, Emilia and her brothers became
home sick and decided to go back to Croglin Hall, convincing
themselves that whoever attacked Emilia was probably an
escaped lunatic who was surely gone by then.
They spent several joyful months at home, until one evening in
March, while lying in her bed Amelia again heard the familiar
sound of scratching at her window. It was there… the same
hideous creature! But this time she was able to scream and
scream she did. Her brothers ran to her room, this time armed with
pistols. One ran to Amelia while the other ran out the front door.
Michael shot at the creature from the top of the shuttered
window. Having a clearer view on the ground, Edward was able to
get a shot out and hit it. Hit, the creature screamed and ran off
limping into the church yard.
Gathering in the parlor, they put another log on the fire and
waited until the morning light. At the crack of dawn, Michael and
Edward packed up Amelia and took off for town. Waking the
Mayor and the Constable on Patrol (COP) not to mention the
Vicar and a few others, they told their story to a group of men
gathered together. After hearing about the assault on Emelia, the
group marched off to the church yard where the creature was last
seen. There they found one of the crypts open. Walking into the
crypt, they found all the coffins in disarray except for one. That
one, they cautiously and deliberately dragged outside and
opened it up. Jumping back in aghast, they realized they were
looking upon a ‘living dead’… a ‘vampire’. Inside was a brown
leathery looking mummified corpse, with a fresh bullet hole in its
leg!
A Sutherland Production
Judging this thing to be a vampire, the group was determined to
stop it from ever wandering around the country side and attacking
women again. As the story was told, just as they cut off its head
the vampire let out a loud scream. Wasting no time, the men
threw the corpse on a large pyre, lit the fire, then stood back to
watch it burn.
This story is supposed to be true and is one of the best document
stories about a real vampire...now that I think of it I don't know of
any other....But I'll just leave it here for you to judge – Professor Bill

Murder, Mystery and Ghosts along Chicago's
North Shore Lake Bluff City Hall
40 E. Center Avenue
Lake Bluff, Illinois 60044
By Rick Hale
Just north of
Chicago, along the
shores of Lake
Michigan, are
several small towns
collectively known
as Chicago's North
Shore These are the
towns where the
wealthy and elite of
the windy city live,
work and play.
Everyone drives a
luxury car and the
average asking
price for a house is
over a million
dollars. These
seemingly innocent
communities are typically close knit and crime is non-existent.
The town of Lake Bluff, the
heart of the North Shore, isn't
quite as innocent as one may
think. The town hides a
mystery ... a mystery that has
been on the lips of all … who
Elfrieda Knaak?
On the morning of October
30, 1928, the maintenance
man arrived early at the Lake
Bluff City Hall to do what he
had done every day for
A Sutherland Production
years, turn on the furnace. When he opened the door of the
furnace room, his eyes were met with a nightmarish sight. Propped
up in the corner of the room was the horribly burned body of a
naked woman. At first, he thought the woman was dead, but was
shocked to see her chest rise and fall taking in much labored
breaths. The employee acted quickly and called the fire
department.
When the young woman was taken into the hospital she was
identified as 29 year old Elfrieda Knaak, a Sunday school teacher
and Bible salesperson. The doctors worked diligently to treat her
burns which covered over 90% of her body. When the police
arrived they went about questioning Elfrieda about who attacked
her. And her answers were shocking to say the least. The young
woman claimed that it was her fault and she did it to herself. When
questioned how the door got locked she responded, "It was a
mysterious hand." Four hours after being brought in, Elfrieda Knaak
succumbed to her injuries and died. Her death, however unlikely
was ruled a suicide.
Trying to piece together what happened to Elfrieda Knaak in the
basement of the Lake Bluff City Hall has caused great
consternation for local law enforcement. Although her death was
ruled a suicide, police were not convinced. According to the
victim she managed to burn herself in a furnace not large enough
to fit a body. And the so-called mysterious hand was absurd to say
the least. Someone had brutalized this young woman, and the
police would not stop until they found the killer.
Barney Rosen Hagen, chief of police was the one to lead the
investigation into Elfrieda's death. Rosen Hagen worked tirelessly to
find a suspect and bring them to justice. He feared for the safety
of his community.
Among the collected evidence at the crime scene were Elfriede's
shoes, a wristwatch and her purse found neatly stacked ten feet
from the furnace. If someone was going to kill themselves in this
manner, why would they be so neat and tidy? Further noted, was
a bloody handprint, the size of a man's hand on the door. And
leading upstairs were footprints of blood and ash. The most
important piece of evidence was Elfrieda herself. The wound on
the back of her head was consistent with being struck by a blunt
object. If this was murder, and it certainly appeared so, why would
anyone do this to a Sunday school teacher?
Legends E-Magazine
54
Upon questioning a colleague, Rosenhagen, discovered Elfrieda
had a secret lover, Charles Hitchcock, a Lake Bluff police officer.
Hitchcock, a former actor, now worked as a night patrolman.
During the day he taught lessons in elocution and salesmanship in
Waukegan, Illinois. Elfrieda was one his students. This was the break
Rosen Hagen needed in the cruel slaying of Elfrieda.
The police rushed to Hitchcock's house ready to take him into
custody. When they arrived they found his wife, four kids and
Hitchcock himself nursing a debilitating limp. Not long ago,
Hitchcock injured his leg while on the job. There was no way
Hitchcock possessed the necessary mobility to walk upstairs, or
even kill someone for that matter. Rosen Hagen was back to
square one. If Hitchcock wasn't the murderer, than who was? A
theory may just shock you.
Over the years, several people have offered the theory that Chief
Barney Rosenhagen was in fact, the secret lover and murderer.
Two suspicious factors have led people to believe he was the killer.
One: After Elfrieda was taken to the hospital, Rosenhagen,
ordered the janitor to clean out the ashes leaving nothing behind.
Second: Rosenhagen changed his story concerning what time he
locked up the building. Lastly, several people got the strange
impression; Rosenhagen was too quick to find only one suspect. If
Rosenhagen was the killer he went to his grave a free man.
Since the apparent suicide of Elfrieda Knaak, there have been
encounters with two spirits at the Lake Bluff City Hall. In the furnace
room, people have witnessed the ghostly vision of a young
woman followed by the sounds of a struggle and anguished
screaming; followed by the sounds of someone running up the
stairs. Could this be the sounds of Elfrieda's murder captured as an
echo in time?
In the early 2000s, a visiting psychic made contact with the spirit of
Elfrieda. She was so overwhelmed by the experience, an
investigator that was with her had to physically carry her out. The
second spirit said to haunt the city hall is none other than the
alleged murderer himself.
The angry spirit of a man in a police uniform has been seen
throughout the building. When he appears, he has an angry scowl
on his face and demands that people leave immediately. One
A Sutherland Production
investigator saw the ghost and identified it as being Barney
Rosenhagen, from his portrait on the wall. Is this confirmation he
was the killer? Perhaps, but we'll never know for sure.
This mystery has been a part of Lake Bluff for almost a century. And
unless some evidence comes to light that implicates Rosenhagen,
this mystery may never end.

Energy Constructs –
Tulpoids or Created Spirits –
By Mary Sutherland
There have been movies made about dolls invested with
enough energy that they achieve a weird kind of life. Usually this is
the stuff of horror films and nightmares, but let’s looks back at the
teddy bear example for a moment.
Think about all the energy that a child puts into a toy like
that. The child names the toy, makes up stories about it. The toy
becomes in his mind a special friend, almost more real to him than
the kid who lives down the street. How much innocent energy
does it take to invest the toy with some kind of actual personality?
Is there such a thing as a created spirit?
It is possible for enough energy to be invested into a
residue that it takes on a life of its own. This process is very rare, but
it can still happen with unintentionally. More common, although
still far and few between, are intentionally created energy
constructs. These are sometimes called elementals by witches and
magical workers. Another term for them is "astral construct,"
because they exist entirely in the non-physical realm.
What is the difference between an energy construct and
the impression of your grandmother lingering in the house?
First and foremost, the construct is something which had no
existence separate from the energy which makes it up. Your
grandmother was a living person, unique and vital and very
physically real. After her passing, a great deal of her energy
lingered in her living space and on those objects precious to her.
When you "saw" your grandmother in the house, it was an
impression only, even though your mind interpreted it as her actual
presence. A second spirit was not born out of the lingering
energies she left behind. These were just echoes of her.
An energy construct, on the other hand, is created purely
out of energy. It has no real existence in the physical world prior to
or after its creation. It can be tied to a particular physical object,
A Sutherland Production
or even a place, but this serves as a focus only. The real existence
of the construct is in the subtle realm. Such constructs are born of
a continuous build-up of focused energy - either the energy of
strong emotion, or the equally potent energy of a person's
intentionally directed will.
Intentional constructs can be invested with a limited
amount of sentience - kind of like a spiritual program that dictates
certain actions they should perform.
Unintentionally created constructs usually play out a limited
set of actions inspired by whatever created them in the first place.
Thus, a construct that has developed in a home where there was
constant anger and fighting will simply roam around, inspiring the
same sort of feelings in others and feeding off of the energy those
emotions produce.
The significant difference between a simple residue and a
construct at this point is the independence it has achieved. The
construct can move from place to place in the subtle reality much
like any other spirit, while a residue is usually tied to the place
where it was created until it is worn away or removed.
The construct also actively seeks out the kind of energy
that will perpetuate its existence, whereas a residue does this only
passively.
Finally, a construct will instinctively avoid anything that
might harm it or bring about the end of its existence. This indicates
at least a limited amount of consciousness, a fact which is just a
little unsettling, considering this created spirit developed from
nothing more than a build-up of cast-off human emotion

LEGENDS AND LORE
Legends of Werewolves and Hell Hounds on the
Moors – Truth or Fiction
By Professor Bill
When Sir Arthur Conon Doyle returned from duty as a
medic during the second Boer War, early 1900's, he went off to visit
some friends near the Town of Devon. It was here that he began
hearing tales of a ‘ghost hound’, reported to have been heard
‘howling on the moors’. Listening to the stories, he decided it
might be a good vehicle to bring back to life, using his character
Sherlock Homes to investigate the mystery.
However, as he started tracking down the source of the
Legend of the Hell House, he found the story based on a fact, as
many Urban Legends are.
As the story goes, Squire Richard Cabell, living in the 1600's,
was a very evil man who killed his wife and gained Immortality by
selling his soul to the devil. He died in 1670 and was buried in a
tomb near the Town of Buckfastleigh near Devon; still there today.
A giant slab was placed on top of his tomb so that his evil spirit
could not escape. The night of his interment a pack of phantom
hounds came howling around his grave and on every anniversary
of his death, a giant hound appears.
A Sutherland Production
All this takes place in and around Dartmoor, where there is
a prison that takes care of the criminally insane. Located north of
the Moor are deep pits of quicksand and mire, making it very
dangerous to stray from the path. At night, legends abound of a
fearsome creature called the ‘Yeth Hound’ and ghostly dogs that
live on the Moor, called the ‘Black Shucks’.
Were those Hell Dogs real? The answer is ‘YES’! Following is ‘my version’ explained:
During the 8th.9th and 10th centuries, Viking's were raiding
England and Ireland. Each Viking ship had a pack of vicious,
hungry and trained to kill Great Danes.
When raiding villages, the Vikings would unleash these
fearsome animals on the people and follow close behind wearing
Wolf skins, wolf heads and growling. At times the villagers could
hardly distinguish between animal and human.
A lot of the dogs did not make it back due to wounds,
hunger or whatever. These dogs wandered off to the moors,
packed up with other strays and produced new breeds. There are
a few breeds in England such as the Irish Wolf, the English Mastiff
and the Scottish Deer Hound - all large and all capable of inter-
breeding.
Care to hazard a guess as to how vicious the Alpha male would be?
I have seen a cross between a Mastiff and a Wolf hound,
standing on its back legs, well over 7 feet tall. Scariest thing I have
ever seen! If I saw something like that on the Moors, I would also
believe in werewolves and hell hounds!
But then, on the other hand, the villagers placed a huge
heavy stone slab on the Squires tomb for a reason… didn't they?

The Cave of the Cats By Suzi Kinsella
This spectacular, powerful and

floor, which is about 5.5 meters wide. The roof is about 7 meters
from the floor and forms an inverted V shape.
There are many stories associated with this beautiful cave.
Firstly, The Cave of the Cats is located under a Hawthorn tree,
which, in Ireland is associated with fairies. This particular location is
known to be a fairy Kingdom.
One story connected with this is a love story. A human woman fell
in love with a fairy prince and she gave birth to a daughter in this
cave. That daughter would become a very famous and renowned
Queen in Ireland, Queen Maebh of Connaught [Maeb in old Irish].
Home of the Celtic Goddess Morrighan (Morgana)
Being that this cave is a portal to the spirit world, the Celtic
goddess Morrighan, makes her home here. She is known to
appear as three women;
1. The Morrighan, the ‘Phantom Queen’;
2. Badhbh, the ‘Crow’ or ‘Raven’
3. Nemhain, ‘Frenzy’.
The Morrighan, Goddess of War, is known for being a temptress on
the battle field, distracting enemies with promises of love and land.
Nemhain creates panic among the men on the battle field when
she lets out her battle cry.
Badhbh would turn into a crow and warn the men of their deaths
by landing on them.
All three women are one deity. She is said to have released a 3
headed creature from the Underworld that rampaged through
Ireland before it was destroyed by great warriors.
She also released small red birds that made plants wither and die
by breathing on them.
The Cave of the Cats was the name given to the cave after three
large, magical wildcats emerged to attack 3 warriors from the
north of Ireland before they were tamed by Ireland’s great hero,
Cu Chulainn.
Many young men were sent down into the cave as a rite of
passage before becoming a warrior. They would have to face
Legends E-Magazine

their darkest fears in the pitch black space. They would either
emerge stronger or as broken men.
During the pagan festival of Samhain, the Irish people believed
that very old graves would open up portals to the Spirit world so
that spirits and their Gods could cross over and walk the earth.
Due to the stories of the creatures emerging from this cave, it was
said that the cave was the biggest and strongest portal to the
Spirit World and the place where all spirits crossed back and forth
at this time of year. These stories spread and, today, many people
travel far and wide to leave offerings in the sacred space.
I have seen some documentaries about this beautiful place being
portrayed as some sort of dark and evil pit to Hell, full of demons
and negative energies. I have visited the Cave Of Cats several
times and each time, my experience amazes me.
I have seen a blanket of starlight in the roof of the cave in the
pure darkness.
I have witnessed the healing power of the cool, mineral rich clay.
I have felt the playful dripping of water dance on my skin.
I have had the utmost honor to witness something that I had never
read about which was the dancing lights. These lights morphed
into images of my loved ones in spirit as if the Morrighan, herself,
was giving me a glimpse into the spirit world.
I have received blessings and cleansings from the powers and
energies in this place.
I have felt empowered, healed, uplifted and stronger each time
that I have emerged from the cave.
I have witnessed the magic of The Cave of Cats. A place to be
cherished honored and respected beyond measure. There is a
power here like no other and it must be experienced to be
believed.

Djinns manifesting from the fire as Feathered Serpents

The Djinn were asked by the Creator to give obedience to his
latter creation, man. Having Free Will the leader of the Djinn,
Shaytan and a third of his followers refused to bow to man.
Angered, God cast him and his followers out of the heavenly
realm and banished them into the earth....thus comes the
corrupted biblical story of 'Angels' being cast down from heaven
and becoming the 'Fallen Angels'.
The Djinn being referenced as ‘angels’ and ‘guardian angels’ is an
inaccuracy that has never been corrected. As mentioned before,
Angels were created ‘Without Free Will’ thus could ‘Not’ disobey
any of the Creators demands. They were created specifically to
obey god’s commandments and worship him. Only the Djinn and
mankind were privileged to have ‘Free Will’. If the writers of the
Bible correctly defined the role of Djinn, Angels and Man, then it
only makes sense that whatever fell had ‘Free Will’ in order to war
with the Creator over his plans. Angels, having ‘no Free Will’ could
not. It could only have been the Djinn who, through their
disobedience, ‘Fell from God’s Grace’. In ‘The Book of Enoch’ I
found passages that support my theory of the Djinn being the
actual ‘Fallen Ones’. .

As supernaturally empowered beings, the Djinn, although hidden
from our viewing, have the ability to intervene in the affairs of
people. While some would like to define them as ‘Evil’ or
‘Demonic’, this is simply not true; some are known to be ‘teachers’
or even ‘guardian spirits’ assigned to us at birth.
The Djinn were also given the names ‘Watchers’ and ‘The People
of Cain, who were the Progenitors of the Red-Haired Race’
According to the Koran, the Djinn found the women of earth
beautiful and impregnated them. From this a Red Haired Race of
Giants was born. (See my book ‘The Red Haired Giants’ at
www.burlingtonnews.net/books.html or through Amazon.) Even
today you can find the Djinn Connection to people with red hair,
through their names, Gin-gers’ or ‘Djin-jurs’.
The story of the birth of giants in the Koran is very similar to
Genesis’s story with the ‘Djinn’ being substituted with ‘Fallen
Angels’.
Many times the Fire Djinn communicate with us through
symbology. Here the Djinn has manifested as an Ouroboros, a
circular symbol depicting a serpent or dragon swallowing its tail.
A Sutherland Production
This, I believe, was the Djinn communicating to us a message or
blessing of wholeness and infinite life. Photo by Mary Sutherland
In Western lore Djinn are often portrayed as having a demonic-like
appearance, but they can also appear in beautiful, seductive
forms. The djinn are masterful shape shifters and could be
construed as entities other than their true selves. “Sometimes” our
encounters with angels, fairies, demons, elementals,
extraterrestrials, mysterious creatures and ghosts may be Djinn in
disguise, either playing tricks or carrying out some kind of an
agenda. They like to manifest as ‘serpents’, ‘dragons’ and
sometimes ‘black dogs’. They can also masquerade as humans,
animals, ghosts, cryptids, and other entities such as extraterrestrials,
demons, shadow people, fairies, angels, UFOs and more.
Not confined to the Middle East, or to the Past, they are believed
to exist in their own realm, probably a parallel dimension, and
have the ability to enter our world and interact with us as they
wish.
Aside from reasoning that other conscious beings must exist in this
seemingly infinite universe, we should also assume that the shape-
shifting Djinn could also be masquerading as them. I first came to
realize this after reading the works of John Keel who called them
"Ultra-terrestrials". Meade Layne knew them as "Etherians"(People
of the Aether). Gordon Creighton, British Intelligence Officer
retired, introduced them to the western world as the Djinn and the
Native American Indians know them as ‘The Coyote’ or ‘The
Trickster’. The more skilled among them have seemed to us as
gods, demi-gods or wizards.
Before the invention of the microscope, science denied the
existence of microbes. Even though we can't see radio waves or
microwaves we know them to exist – so why not Djinn. And just
because we can’t see the Djinn doesn’t mean they don’t exist; it is
just that they are vibrating at a frequency outside of our spectrum
of vision.
The Djinn concept challenges me to understand just how limited
our perceptions can be. They help challenge us to look past what
we have been taught as real and take us on a journey forward
into the Ever Deeping Mysteries.

THE CHICAGO FIRE OCTOBER 8 1871
By Professor Bill
Much has been said and studied
about the Chicago Fire, but hardly
anyone knows the truth.
It's much more profitable to invent
a colorful story and at the same
time malign a group of people.
Who really needs the truth?
The truth is only told if it fits the
reporter’s political agenda and it's
much the same way today.
With that being said... Let me
begin…
The Biela Comet
The Chicago Fire broke out on
October 8 1871, destroying 3.3 acres and killing about 400
people… AND at the ‘EXACT’ time, fires broke out in Minnesota,
Wisconsin, Michigan and Ontario Canada!
The Chicago Fire was small in comparison to Peshtigo WI.... But In
1871 the world did not know there even was a town called
Peshtigo WI. But everyone knew there was Chicago, Illinois.
The Peshtigo fire destroyed over 1.5 million acres and claimed over
2,000 lives. At the same time fires broke out on Washington Island,
in Holland, Manistee, Port Huron Michigan, Ontario Canada and
parts of Minnesota. Just south of Chicago, the town of Urbana IL
was burned to the ground.
The cause of this catastrophe was the Biela Comet traveling across
the Northern part of the Great Lakes from the NNE to a SSW
direction. It exploded when hitting our atmosphere, which created
fires all around the Great Lakes

The Fake News ….Illegal Immigration!
Meanwhile back in Chicago a Reporter for the Chicago
Republican had an axe to grind with a certain group of
people… The Irish. At that time, the Irish were the most hated group
of people in Chicago – so why not blame them for the Chicago
Fire… well maybe not them directly, but we could blame it on one
of their cows… Next thing you know, we have the story of Mrs.
O’Leary’s cow tipping over a lantern causing a fire throughout the
entire city of Chicago!
In 1893 the reporter Michael Ahern admitted making it up to cast
blame on the ‘Immigrant Irish’ as opposed to the Irish who had
been here a while… Sound Familiar?
Chicago with its large Irish Population always had two
factions… the ‘Lace Curtain Irish’ and the ‘Shanty Irish’ and if you
want to know the difference just call ex-Mayor Daley, a lace
curtain Mick, and you'll find out very quickly!
Ironically, the house where the cow reputedly kicked over the

crawling around like the caterpillar or… in light, taking flight with
the wings god provided you.
Through her ancestral roots of shamanism, Mary Sutherland, author
of “Living in the Light Believe in the Magic”, offers you the
knowledge you've been seeking.

Sutherland connects her students to
the Shamanic energies, introducing
them to a timeless reality that exists
parallel to and just out of sight of the
world we so mistakenly call the “real
world”.
It is here in the everyday that we
experience the reflections of who we
are, of our actions, our deepest beliefs, our “dream”’, but it is in
the non-manifest world of the spirit that the hidden causal

interactions take place. Hidden, that is, until we begin to open the
doors and “see” with the expanded vision of a Shaman.
She teaches that self-empowerment
through spiritual development is the
most important work we can
accomplish spirit is all around us and
can be readily and directly accessed
by anyone.
Her view is based on the belief that everything in the universe is
connected and interdependent, therefore involves a deep
respect for the natural world and its ecosystem.
In her class she also offers lessons in success through visualization,
techniques in how to "hone-in" to psychic abilities; fine-tuning
innate ways to reveal hidden talents. Her classes are great for
those seeking to improve mind-body-spirit awareness.
Within these courses of study, are defining wisdoms of universal
laws and human interaction with these laws. In general, if you've
ever wanted to know what makes the world around you tick,
paranormal phenomena, energy transformation, shamanism or
basic quantum physics, then participating in one of Mary
Sutherland’s classes may be just what you are looking for.

Monsters among Us - Linda S. Godfrey
Another prolific author and television personality focusing on the
Fringes of Science is Linda
Godfrey.
Her start in the field of
cryptozoology began as an
assignment given to her by the
local newspaper she worked for,
wanting a juicy Halloween story.
Her article was about what she
coined ‘The Bray Road Beast’ of Elkhorn Wisconsin. For years the
story of a wolf man type beast bounced around Walworth and
Racine County. Although it made for a great Urban Legend for the
area, Linda’s article on ‘The Beast’ was an overnight international
success, bringing upon the citizens of Elkhorn inquiries from
reporters and monster hunters from around the world.
Linda honestly admits that prior to interviewing actual eye
witnesses she did not believe in the urban legend but before the
article went to print, she knew there was something to the story.
Through the years, because of her curiosity and tenacity to gain a
fuller understanding of ‘The Beast’ and other strange creatures
,Godfrey has become viewed by her peers and readers as a
beacon of light and one of the foremost trusted researcher and
author in the field of cryptozoology.
In ‘Monsters among Us’, she tackles the very real possibility of
cryptid creatures using the portals between worlds -- and even
other dimensions; including the works of Mary Sutherland and the
portals found in the woods of Burlington, WI.

Haunted Burlington Wisconsin -
Mary Sutherland
In my book
“Haunted
Burlington
Wisconsin” I
write of the
Haunted
House of
Rochester,
Wisconsin.
A two-story house that is so haunted the landlord cannot get
anyone to live there.
Crazy things are always
happening there in the
house and on the
property.
One afternoon Brad
and I were walking the
premises as you see in
the book’s photo and
we could hear all this
banging going on in the
house. I exclaimed to
Brad … ”Ghosts”! Being
that men are more left
brained than women,
Brad tried to explain
more logically. “No
Mary, the noise is probably coming from construction workers remodeling the house.” So he goes up to the house and looks
through the windows and guess what ....no construction workers or
anyone else in the house. That small shed near house in
background has an entrance to the underground tunnels that
goes under the river and under Chances Restaurant. It is set up
pretty much the same as the Malt House Theater in Burlington.

Burlington's historical district rests uneasily on top of twenty-seven
ancient burial mounds. No wonder everyone in the seemingly
sleepy Wisconsin town owns a ghost story or two. Residents have
spotted the White Beast of Burlington near the old fish hatchery,
bumped into a Confederate apparition on Academy Road and
caught a glimpse of the Lady in Blue at the Malt House Theater.
Sutherland spent fifteen years chasing local lore of Burlington and
surrounding areas. Now she stands as a ready guide to the
mysteries of the Burlington Wisconsin.

THE BURLINGTON HAUNTED WOODS TOURS
Overnighters like to arrive early Saturday so they have time to do
some thrifting or antiquing, Check into their hotel and relax. The
two hotels we recommend are the AmericInn and Baymont.
We are also checking into AirBnBs for groups over 5.

In the Summer Months and Early Fall, an alternative is camping for
the night with a Sunday morning cook out at Bong Recreational
Park.
6:00 – 6:30 Registration –We all meet either at the Pine Street Café
to grab something to eat and drink… OR across the street to
Napoli’s Pizzeria for a pizza. It’s the group’s choice. There Brad and
Mary do a count of guests and have liability papers signed, not
holding the Sutherland’s responsible for any injuries on tour.
It is an opportune time to also get to know some of the other
A Sutherland Production
guests that will be participating in the tour.
7:30 - Leave for the Woods
Group drive out to the woods in their own vehicle
In the parking lot Mary Sutherland will explain the layout of the
woods and prepare the group to “Feel” spirit around them. While
Mary is doing this, Brad Sutherland will be walking around taking
pictures of the group and the area. When the camera shows that
the area has become active, we all go into the woods. (This
usually takes about 10-15 minutes)
Upon entering the 'First'
woods, which is the home
to the fairies and
elementals, we first arrive
at the 'Fairy Kingdom'
where m&ms are given to
the fairies. Hopefully, the
fairies accept our m&ms
and will allow themselves
to be photographed with
the group. Expect some of
the group to be pulled into
the fairy kingdom by the fairies. This will be shown on the camera
as a dimensional shift or the person disappearing.
We then continue on to the guardian trees where Mary teaches
you how to 'become one' with the trees and communicate with
them. As this happens there is a dimensional shift, where the
cameras will show dimensional shifts, dimensional entities and orbs
As we continue, expect to feel 'touching' from spirit and whispers
or whistling. When spirit is around, you will note a sudden drop in
temperature and possible chills running up and down your spine.
Upon entering a vortex area, dimensional doorway or parallel
universe, expect to feel sensations of disorientation, lightheaded,
nausea, ringing in the ears, headaches, pulsation of the 'third
eyes' (found in the middle of your forehead above your nose) and
tingling of your hair on your scalp and/or arms.
Legends E-Magazine

Between the first woods and
the second woods, we stop
and Mary explains the
history behind Serpent
Ridge and its importance.
Entering the 'second woods'
we will again make an
offering of m&ms to the
guardian, who Mary knows
as a 'giant'.
We then continue on to the
'Sacred Site' area which has a 'fairy circle' made from a 'feminine'
vortex, which spins 'clockwise'. These places are known for their
healing benefits and were used by the Druids for outdoor places of
worship and ceremonies. It is here where Mary Sutherland will
teach you how to connect with the 'Shaman of the Woods' and
walk in the dimensional universes. While you are shifting into the
other dimensional worlds Brad and Mary Sutherland will be
photographing you and showing you the photos as the
phenomenon happens.
10 o'clock we leave the woods
Sunday Morning
We like to get together with the overnighters for breakfast and
coffee. But both hotels have continental breakfasts, so you might
just want to meet up for coffee outside of Burlington.
Photographs of Brad and Mary’s will be posted to the Haunted
Woods Facebook Group Site, with explanations of the various
phenomena happening in photos.

A Sutherland Production
"Mary Sutherland is not simply a reporter of all these phenomena;
she lives them! As readers expect, her studies extend beyond her
own experiences. The author and investigator often takes visitors
on tours containing an inter-dimensional vortex and hosts yearly
conferences and meet ups with many well-known speakers on
anomalous phenomena."
What differentiates her book “Haunted Burlington Wisconsin” is
that Sutherland includes her explanations of the unknown realms
and phenomena with tips for heightening the reader's own
psychic awareness. Readers who complete this dizzying journey
may find they can no longer look at Burlington in exactly the same
way. Perhaps, then, this book itself may be considered a vortex.
and whether or not it actually transports you to another place, it
will certainly draw you in."
Linda Godfrey, Author and Researcher
There are rare persons in this world who see things others don’t;
persons who connect the dots of existence and possess an
instinctive talent for linking with kindred souls to reveal otherwise
invisible patterns and excavate hidden truths. Such a person is
Mary Sutherland.
She is a natural-born networker in all she does --- from her conferences to her public talks and published books.

“Mary provides a wealth of evidence to show that those
influences were not only real, but molded the early prehistory of
North America. Her discussion of Atlantean culture-bearers from
the Eastern Seaboard to the Middle West is within the context of
Ojibwa and other, tribal traditions describing the “red-haired giant
sorcerers,” who introduced, among other innovations, agriculture
and metallurgy. As our land’s first farmers and metal-smiths, they
arrived after the destruction of their overseas’ homeland by a
devastating cataclysm, likewise preserved in Native American folk
memory.”
“This is only part of their story, however, part of a much larger epic
skillfully brought back to life by Mary Sutherland.”
