The FBM KLCI index gained 11.63 points or 0.71% on Tuesday. The Finance Index increase

0.22% to 14377.18 points, the Properties Index up 0.98% to 1158.1 points and the Planta

tion Index rose 1.66% to 7641.58 points. The market traded within a range of 11.86 point

between an intra-day high of 1660.62 and a low of 1648.76 during the session.

Actively traded stocks include CAP, AIRASIA, SUMATEC, TIGER, ARMADA, M3TECH

DRBHCOMC19, DGB, LUSTER and AAX. Trading volume increased to 1935.25 mil share

worth RM2124.91 mil as compared to Monday’s 1278.02 mil shares worth RM1349.95 mi

Leading Movers were UMW (+23 sen to RM5.36), DIGI (+14 sen to RM4.70), IOICORP (+1

sen to RM4.40), YTL (+4 sen to RM1.67) and KLCC (+18 sen to RM7.58). Lagging Mover

were GENTING (-7 sen to RM8.45), MAYBANK (-3 sen to RM8.39) and TM (-1 sen t

RM6.64). Market breadth was positive with 551 gainers as compared to 262 losers.

The KLCI closed higher at 1660.62 points amid overnight gains in Wall Street. The perform

ance of our local bourse was lifted by buying interest in heavy weight counters such a

UMW and YTL Corp.
