The Heritance kandalama has won awards as one of the most environmentally friendly hotel in Srilanka.Formally known as the
kandalama hotel, it is the first nature based large scale hotel in Srilanka,this made them become more sensitive to environmental &
local community needs.
The hotel is built in the configuration of the outspread wings of a bird and located
between two rocks. The hotel is a staggering 1km from end to end, and rises up 7 floors,
and yet appears to be a perfectly natural extension of the mountainside, least visible
as it is covered by native plants, home to many species.
