Construction Monitoring & Compliance
EI’s technical staff includes biological, cultural, and other environmental experts to
cover pre-construction surveys and construction monitoring and ensure regulatory
compliance during project development. EI’s team uses an in-house, web-based data
management system to efficiently gather and report daily field information, project
photographs, and GIS data. EI’s systems streamline field operations and provide
decision makers with real-time data.

EI’s biologists hold Federal and State permits and
are qualified to conduct focused sensitive species
surveys and monitor for a wide variety of threatened,
and endangered plants and wildlife species. Frequent

during operations and maintenance
of their projects:
avian and bat mortality and monitoring EI works closely
with various wildlife protection agencies to develop
and implement Avian and Bat Mortality Monitoring
programs including the Los Angeles Department of Water
and Power’s Pine Tree Wind Power Project, the largest
municipally-owned wind farm in the U.S.
visual emission evaluators (vee) EI’s CalEPA Certified
VEEs provide long-term air quality monitoring and
have become a trusted contributor to the Kern County
regional dust monitoring plan under Rule 402
In addition, EI is fully prepared to respond to project
emergencies and has assisted energy operators meet
all compliance requirements following floods, fires, and
other natural catastrophes.

Monitoring Programs
Decommissioning & Habitat Restoration
DecommISSIonIng & DemolItIon
EI provides project decommissioning planning and
implementation services to facilitate the end of
operations, management of excess materials, and
waste disposal. EI has prepared numerous demolition
and waste divergence permits under the California
Green Building Standards Code and other Solid Waste
Management programs.
habItat ReStoRatIon
EI’s habitat restoration experts prepare revegetation
plans for native vegetation communities including
wetlands, coastal sage scrub, desert scrub and sensitive
plants. EI also negotiates approval of the plans with
resource protection agencies. EI can supervise all aspects
of the restoration process including site preparation,
invasive species control, native seed collection, planting
and irrigation design, and long-term monitoring,
maintenance and compliance reporting.
