Energy-safe Cities East Asia Program October 2014
• To initiate a rapid transformation to low-carbon, resilient, and safe urban energy systems in East Asian local governments.
• Through this multi-year, multi-stage program, member cities shall explore locally specific and sustainable pathways for attaining 100% renewable energy supply systems by the year 2030.
Stage 1: Expert Symposium• Held in Beijing on 28-29 October 2014. • 70 participants, including industry and
academic experts in energy sustainability, and representatives from 11 local governments
• Engaged in an interactive dialogue on the best practices, technologies, and strategies for attaining energy-safe cities: 100% renewable energy cities.
