Late arrival/Early departure procedures Just a reminder for parents if your child is late arriving at school or you need to collect them early, you must sign them in/out at the office personally (students cannot do this themselves) and they must be col-lected via the office. This ensures we have accurate records of where are students are at any given time. Contacts In reviewing our emergency information, it was noted that quite a few of our contact numbers for parents are out of date. Please ensure you let us know of any change of address/contact details as soon as they’re done so that we are able to contact you at any time. Also, please ensure we have a secondary emergency contact for your child if we’re unable to get hold of you at any stage. Uniform Award As the winter months are now upon us, attendance at school becomes an issue with illness. Obviously we don’t want children at school when they are unwell, so we have decided to ‘pause’ the weekly Attendance Award and substitute it for a weekly ‘Uniform Award’. The uniform award will be given out to the class with the most days of full school uniform in the week. This helps to both promote our uniform policy, as well as encourage students to wear our fabulous school uniform. The Uniform Policy, designed by School Council, is attached to this newsletter to assist you with knowing what is, and isn’t uniform. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, don’t hesitate to contact us at school. World Environment Day All students across Prep to 6 will be attending World Environment Day at COPACC THIS FRIDAY where they will experience “exploring the SS Environment—it’s a maze and it’s amazing! Set sail on our ship, a giant 3D work of art made from re-used cardboard”. The cost of this event is $6, so if you haven’t yet returned the per-mission form and money, please do so by tomorrow. This is bound to be a great event!
Oval Update Many, many thanks must go to Shaun Carson and Greg Harrington who gave up their Saturday to sow the grass seed on our newly levelled oval. This was a great effort and we are very grateful for the time and expertise that Shaun and Greg donated. It now means that we just have to wait for the grass to grow in order to use our BRAND NEW OVAL! Hang in there kids! National Collection of Disability Data All schools in Australia, including Independent and Catholic schools, will participate in the Nationally Con-sistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability this year. The Data Collection is an annual count of the number of students with disability receiving educational ad-justments to support their participation in education on the same basis as students without disability. All education agencies are now required under the Australian Education Regulation 2013 to provide infor-mation on a student’s level of education, disability and level of adjustment to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.* Data will continue to be de-identified prior to its transfer to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. No student’s identity will be provided to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. The collection of this information from states and territories will inform future policy and program planning in relation to students with disability. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or the Victorian Department of Education and Training Data Collection Hotline on (03) 9651 3621.
Enjoy the long weekend everyone! Angela Hall Principal
