ELECTRIC CIRCUIT COMBINED WITH STARTER MOTORThe solenoid connection feeding the pull coil P and the hold coil T is marked with the indication PULL (red cable) and HOLD (blue cable). The body is connected to ground. The pull coil P is fed in parallel with the starter motor: the red cable connected to the positive of the starter motor and the blue cable connected to the positive of the key switch. The auxiliary switch K ensures disconnection of the coil P and prevents the possible damaging return of parasitic currents.

It is designed for control of dual coil ELETTROSTART with SERIES 3 electrical circuit without switch, used for the shutdown and acceleration of diesel engines. It supplies simultaneously the two coils (PULL and HOLD), and after 500 milliseconds it de-energizes the PULL coil, thus preventing it from overheating. Its application presents both mechanical and electrical advantages:In theeventof incorrectadjustmentorblockingof thecom-
pound levers, only the HOLD coil remains energized, so preventing damage to the solenoid;
It replaces the internal switchof the solenoidwhich is notvery suitable industyor salineenvironments (thanks to itsperfectly tight construction) and in applications with involving repeated acceleration, and thus guarantees a greater reli-ability and longer service of the solenoid;
Sincethedimensionsandweightarereduced,itcanbeeasilypositioned in any point of the engine.
