VUSIC https://marvelapp.com/bb34i Executive Summary
The idea for Vusic, which is the combination of ‘music’ and ‘voting’, came to me when I was listening to music in the car with my friends. Everyone had their own opinion on what should be played, and as the songs constantly changed every time the driver felt like it, everyone gave up trying to play their favorite song. Vusic was the answer to this music dictatorship, while also solving the continuous problem of songs being cut off halfway and changed without asking. This app not only targets millennial’s in cars, but honestly anyone who loves music, or anywhere music is played. Management and employees of restaurants, clubs, and bars can enjoy not having to answer customers’’ song requests. Users of the app will engage friends or other customers to sign up and vote for their music choice. The app features 5 tabs; 1. Now Playing, 2. Where You At?, 3. Search or Browse, 4. Settings and Preferences, 5. My Profile. These are displayed below with different content described for each. Within the ‘Now Playing’ tab you will be able to nominate or vote on songs and see what’s on queue. ‘Where You At?’ will use your current location so you can see and choose to join any nearby venues with a Vusic party set up. ‘Search or Browse’ is where you link your Spotify or SoundCloud accounts and import your own music. You may also see the trending songs on Vusic, within specific locations, or with your friends. ‘Settings and Preferences’ is for customizing your Vusic experience and profile -‐‑ which you can view in the ‘My Profile’ tab. This report also includes screenshots of the prototypes created, a list of the Tools used to design this app, and a quick description that could be displayed in the App Store. Finally, a cost analysis is attached which calculates the total cost of Vusic’s design and breaks-‐‑down the numbers for a clearer understanding.

Problem/Opportunity
So many people argue over song choices and why not make life easy, less-‐‑tense and fun for everyone? There needs to be an app where you or others around you could nominate a song by voting it into the queued playlist -‐‑ creating a democracy for the songs being played in the venue or location. The only way a song is played, is if it has the leading number of votes in the list of nominated songs. Anyone could request songs without bothering the party hosts, bartenders, or management. and like I said, it’s a democracy. It creates a fair way for everyone to choose the songs they want.
Target Audience
This app would be extremely useful not just in long car rides or at parties with friends, but also in bars, clubs and restaurants.

Product Description
This product creates a democratic jukebox -‐‑ a fair way for everyone to choose the songs they want right from their phone. The user can join nearby parties/venues to nominate and live-‐‑vote on the song queue for that location. The only way a song is played, is if it has the highest vote count for any currently nominated song. Users can also down-‐‑vote a song if they don’t like a nomination, or don’t want to hear a song played again. By linking a music streaming service, you have your own library at your fingertips and can play what you want, even if other users don’t know it. This app would be for shared use between friends, coworkers and random neighbors or bar/club/restaurant attendees.
Unique Features
o Party Hosts: You want everyone to have a say on what music is playing, so that everyone stays happy and has fun. You also don’t want people being able to just change a song right in the middle of it because they have “something better” or are could have possibly been drinking and didn’t really care about anything else but their favorite song (this happens to my friends and I all the time and can be extremely frustrating)

§ This setting will allow someone to be the chosen “president” or
basically an admin of the party. Ø Before the start, they would create the ‘party’ that people can
join when the arrive. Therefore, the host is actually hosting the music voting for the queue as well.
§ They could set some restrictions before hand Ø Hate a certain song? Block it Ø Not a big fan of country? Ban the genre Ø Have kids at the party? Limit the list of songs to choose from,
or as well as the list of genres or artists ü Or set a restriction blocking explicit music
§ Some other ideas of mine for rules included: Ø Limiting how many songs you can nominee Ø How many times you can vote (yes or no) Ø Blocking certain people from nominating (before or during the
event) § The president would also gain a final say in the queue. This would
allow them to: Ø Skip a song Ø Play their song choice over everyone else’s nominations
