Chicago's New 'L' Stations: Divvy's Role in Chicago Mass TransitBased on 2014 Divvy ridership data, Divvy stations can be assigned to one of four classifications, based on geography and ridership:

L The vast majority of Divvy stations (61%) can be classified as Local stations, serving local residents and businesses. A majority of riders leaving these stations are Divvy subscribers.Local stations handled about 43% of all daily rides in 2014.ast Mile Last Mile stations are docks located within 1/8 of a mile from the nearest rapid transit or commuter rail station entrance outside the downtown area. These stations are ideally located for transit commuters to complete the "last mile" of their transit trips with greater flexibility, availability, and frequency than local buses. Last Mile stations comprise 17.4% of the Divvy system and handled about 15% of daily trips in 2014.

eisure Leisure stations in 2014 were stations primarily utilized by daily pass Divvy riders, rather than annual subscribers. These stations are overwhelmingly located along the lakefront, comprising 12% of Divvy stations citywide.Leisure stations handled over 19% of average daily Divvy trips in 2014, but only 12% of weekday peak hour trips.

oop Loop Divvy stations make up the smallest percentage of Divvy stations -- less than 10% of the network -- but carried over 22% of daily Divvy riders in 2014 and 1 out of every 3 trips during the weekday peak period (7-9am and 4-6pm). These stations include some nearby West Loop and River North stations.Coming in 2015: Loop Link

Loop LinkBeginning in 2015, the City of Chicago and the Chicago Transit Authority are constructing the Loop Link, a new transit and cycling corridor through the heart of the Loop. The Loop Link will improve bus performance on seven CTA bus routes and provide new protected east-west bicycle facilities for cyclists. Fourteen existing Divvy docks are located within a block of the new Loop Link including three docks along Randolph Street, which will receive a westbound bike lane as part of the Loop Link project. The Loop Link will also provide better, safer bicycle facilities for Divvy riders. Eight of the ten busiest peak-hour Divvy stations are in the Loop Link corridor.
