DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT NOTICE OF INTENT
The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) intends to solicit proposals for Design-Build services from firms interested in providing design and construction services necessary for bridge preservation along Interstate 55 in DeSoto, Tate, and Panola Counties in Mississippi.
The Mississippi Transportation Commission (Commission) will use a two-step process to select a firm with which to execute a contract for this Project.
The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) represents the first step in the process. The purpose of the RFQ is to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from firms interested in providing the requested design and construction services necessary to complete the Project.
After evaluation and scoring of responsive SOQs, the Commission intends to short-list a minimum of three (3) Responders.
The Short-listed Responders will be provided a Request for Proposals (RFP) and will be asked to submit a Volume 1 – Technical Proposal and a Volume 2 – Contract Price Proposal. A firm will then be selected for the Project utilizing the best-value selection method.
The anticipated contract award will be spring of 2016.
This NOTICE OF INTENT is issued to allow potential Responders an opportunity to form Design-Build teams in anticipation of issuance of the RFQ for this Project. No formal submittal is required at this time. The RFQ is anticipated to be issued via the MDOT website (mdot.ms.gov - under Contracts and Letting, Design-Build and Special Projects) in September 2015.
