The students of DPS Miyapur (Grade 4) had been taken on a field trip to Sudha Cars Museum on
11th July 2018. This field trip provided an opportunity to the students to gain practical knowledge
through exploration and observation. The students had the privilege of witnessing over 165 cars in
different sizes and shapes. Children were amazed at the sight of cars in typical out of box designs
like a Burger, Football, Billiards table, Laptop, Shoe car, Bed car etc. They were overwhelmed with
joy at the sight of every display they came across. This car museum features an extremely wide
range of cars and bikes in different shapes, sizes and colour. The children were very excited to share
their experiences and recall the shapes of the car they have seen during the trip. They were
motivated to do something new in a different way.

"If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and
become more, then you are an excellent leader".
Friday, July 13, 2018 was indeed a red letter day for DPS, Miyapur as it was the fourth Investiture
Ceremony where the members of the student council took the oath of the office. Leaders are the role
models who inspire the followers and motivate them to reach the target of success. Delhi Public
school has always aligned itself with this philosophy. The occasion was graced by Mr. Vijay
Kumar, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, a man of profound thoughts and
few words. The event started with a melodious prayer rendered by our school choir. It was followed
by a welcome address by our Principal Ms. Tara Suresh Kumar and the presentation of a sapling to
the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest conferred badges and flags to the council members of the Junior
and Senior student council for the academic session 2018-19. The oath was administered to the
council members by the Honourable Chief Guest and this was the most solemn moment of the
ceremony. The audience were witness to a delightful dance performance which portrayed the fusion
of classical and modern styles. They also witnessed the chat show - Rendezvous with Akshita. Mr
Vijay was asked pertinent questions on how good leadership mattered in his role and how he faced
challenges that came his way. An address by the Head Boy, Kabir Bajaj and the Vote of Thanks
proposed by the Head Girl Aakanksha Kulkarni marked the end of this memorable event.

Learning should never be confined to class.
With this objective in mind, on 18th July 2018, the students of Grade V were taken on a field trip to
the State Archaeological Museum. The Museum was an excellent place to explore and learn. The
main attraction of the museum was the Egyptian Mummy. The students saw the chariots and
cannons kept in the open. Exquisite artifacts and antiques were professionally displayed in a number
of well laid out spacious galleries spread over four buildings. Jewellery collections including the
gold and silver Jewellery inlaid with semi precious stones were very attractive. The Ajanta Paintings
gallery, featuring similar models of the famous Ajanta cave paintings, were quite impressive as
well. Health museum gallery that included two sections-Nutrition and Health issues and
Motherhood and Childbirth gained the special attention of students. Real human organs
fascinated them. It was an enjoyable day for the students. They enjoyed as well as learnt a lot about
the rich history of our country.
To acquaint the students with promotional strategies in marketing through humorous
advertisements, DPS, Miyapur organised an inter-house Ad Mad competition for the students of
Grade IV on 19th July, 2018. The theme for this year’s Ad Mad Show was promoting a stationery
item. The idea behind conducting this competition was to provide a platform to the participants to
explore and showcase their creativity and persuasive skills. It was a perfect blend of creativity,
humour and precision when the participants took to the stage to present the theme. Each team came
up with a unique idea to campaign for their stationery products. The teams were judged on clarity,
creativity, appeal, & simplicity. The judges congratulated the achievers and applauded the

The children of Grade I went on a field trip to the Zoo on the 25th of July. There are different ways
to teach the kids and there is no better way than having them taught amidst nature. A nature walk
helps them to discover, learn and never let go or forget. Well, zoo is one of the places everyone
enjoys visiting, be it the children or adults.
At the entrance one of the attendants offered to watch a documentary on Zoo. The documentary
was about the animals, birds, snakes, and about the tortoise that is in the zoo since 100 plus years.
Kids enjoyed on a joy ride (train ride) and saw many animals while travelling on it. They spotted
elephants, ostriches, deer, monkeys, rhino etc.. going through a small tunnel, the kids found it
interesting as it was dark and exciting especially in zoo.. It was a 20 minute ride .. Later they saw
the birds’ sanctuary where they saw different kinds of parrots from different countries across the
world. Kids were surprised to see parrots. They also got to see different snakes like python, cobra at
the zoo. The children spent some time playing in the park

The trip to the zoo helped them to know a lot more about the wild life as well as understand the
lesson “Animal World” since they had practically experienced it. It was great learning exposure for
the kids.
Words are seeds that do more than blow around
They land in our hearts and not the ground
Be careful what you plant and careful what you say
You might have to eat what you planted one day.
