POONCH: To encourage thestudents of remote areas inPoonch Distt to keep them-selves updated on the cur-rent affairs and to displaytheir talent on canvas, armyorganised a quiz and paint-ing competition for studentsof Madrassa, Dara Dullianin Poonch Distt on Saturday.

In all 16 students partici-pated in the quiz competitionwhich was categorised intocurrent affairs, generalknowledge, science and tech-nology and identifying thepersonality rounds.

In all 35 students partici-pated in painting competi-tion and displayed theirimagination and creativityon canvas.

STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: DistrictDevelopment Commissioner,Showkat Aijaz Bhat onSaturday reviewed the onseveral projects being execut-ed under PMGSY and PWD,here at a meeting.

The meeting was attendedby CPO, Uttam Singh, XenPWD, Jugal Kishore, Xen,PMGSY, Gyan Singh ,AEEs, AEs and JEs.

The meeting was informedthat 101 schemes, out oftotal 105 sanctionedschemes, are being executedin the district in two PMGSYdivisions including Rambanand Banihal. Besides, 36projects have been completed

at the cost of Rs. 22,451 lakhresulting in development ofover 402 km road network.Further, eight bridges havealso been completed, out oftotal sanctioned 11 bridges,and various hamlets havebeen connected withmotorable road grid, so far.

While taking stock of PWDsector, it was informed thatfive different projects werecompleted in different partsof the district includingZiarat Shareef Jabba road,Revenue complex Gool, dieselMechanic workshop of ITIGool, 50m long bridge onLamber road, Medical SubCentre and 15 Km roadmacadamized in division

Ramban during the year2018-19 besides work onvarious projects is onprogress.

The DDC directed the offi-cers to submit comprehensivereports detailing the workundertaken, amount of com-pensation provided and pen-dency of roads and struc-tures, condition of the roadsbesides forest clearance,felling of trees and other fac-tors responsible for causingdelay in the works.

The DDC directed theSDMs to resolve issues andbottlenecks hampering exe-cution of ongoing works ofPWD roads and other proj-ects across the district.

As many as, 10 students ofthe host school participatedin the contest and expressedtheir views on the topic.
