INTRODUCTION
We are going to read a story titled COUNT! In this
story we are going to count animals.
• What are some of the things that we can count in our classroom?
• Counting is to find the total number of objects.
• I am going to read a book titled COUNT! Let’s take a picture walk.
• What did you see in the book?
• As I read COUNT!.... I will stop to practice counting. I will first model counting by pointing to the animals on each page Then as I read I will allow students to count. Who can count the fish?
• After reading I will ask children to retell the story and ask them these questions.
1 .How many crocodiles?
2.How many zebras?
3.How many giraffes?
How many worms?

BEYOND READINGBEYOND READING
.I will give a paper and crayon to children to draw their favorite animal from the story.
I will give children a paper to trace numbers from 1 to 10.
