(8) 2 ½" x wof strips; cut into (48) 2 ½" x 6 ½"

(9) 2 1/4 x wof strips; create continuous binding

Backing

Construct 2 strips the width of the fabric and

length at least 105". Sew strips together to form

a vertical seam in the backing.

Block Construction

Spice fabrics listed in parentheses All sewing is done right sides together using a scant 1/4" seam allowance unless otherwise noted.

1. Sew together (2) 2 ½" x 12 ½" white solid(ecru solid) rectangles & (1) 2 ½" x 12 ½" green tonal(orange/green

polka) rectangle. Press toward center.

Make 24.

2. Draw a diagonal line across each 6 ½" pink/brown polka(teal/green polka) square. Use the stitch and flip method to construct a flying geese unit using two squares and one of the units made in step 1. Press toward polka dot.

3. Sew together a 2 ½" white solid(ecru solid) square and a 2 ½" green tonal(orange/green polka) square. Press toward the solid. Make 24. Sew a green tonal(orange/green polka) 2 ½" x 4 ½" rectangle to the unit just made. Press away from the rectangle. Orient as illustrated.

4. Sew a white solid(ecru solid) 2 ½" x 4 ½" rectangle to the right of the units just made in Step 3 and a 2 ½" x 6 ½" white solid(ecru solid) rectangle to the top as illustrated. Press toward the solid.

Make 24. 5. Sew together (2) 1 ½" x 6 ½" white solid(ecru solid) rectangles & (1) 1 ½" x 6 ½" pink tonal(orange tonal) rectangle. Press toward center.

6. Draw a diagonal line across each 3 ½" large floral(small floral) square. Use the stitch and flip method to construct a flying geese unit using two squares and one of the units made in step 5. Press toward floral.

Make 24. 7. Sew together a 1 ½" white solid(ecru solid) square and a 1 ½" pink tonal(orange tonal) square. Press toward the solid. Make 24. Sew a pink tonal(yellow tonal) 1 ½" x 2 ½" rectangle to the unit just made. Press away from the rectangle. Orient as illustrated.

8. Sew a white solid(ecru solid) 1 ½" x 2 ½" rectangle to the right of the units just made in Step 3 and a 1 ½" x 3 ½" white solid(ecru solid) rectangle to the top as illustrated. Press toward the solid.

9. Sew a unit made in Step 6 to the left and right of a 6 1/2" large floral(small floral) square. Press toward center.

Make 6.

10. Sew 2 units made in step 8 to the sides of a unit made in Step 6. Press away from center.

Make 12.

11. Sew a unit made in Step 10 to the top and bottom of the unit made in Step 9. Press toward center.

Make 6.

12. Sew a unit made in Step 2 to the right and left of the unit made in step 11. Press away from the center.

Make 6.

13. Sew 2 units made in Step 4 to the sides of a unit made in Step 2. Press toward the center.

Make 12.

14. Sew 2 units made in Step 13 to the top and bottom of a unit made in Step 12. Press away from the center(Spice colorway on the right)

15. Repeat steps 1-14 to complete the remaining 6 blocks. Use the following fabrics:

Steps 1, 3, 4 white solid(ecru solid) & brown tonal(teal tonal)

Step 2 pink/green polka (orange leaves)

Steps 5,7,8 lt. green tonal(dark orange tonal)

Step 6 small floral(large floral) In Step 12 press away from the center and in Step 13

press toward the center.

Last 6 blocks in each colorway. Make 6 of each.

Quilt Top Construction

1. Alternating blocks, sew together all 12 blocks. Press seams in adjacent rows in opposite directions.

2. Layer the quilt, baste, and quilt as desired

3. Bind the quilt using the prepared striped binding.
