In the course of the new development of the "Höfe am Brühl"in Leipzig by mfi Projektmanagement AG, Richard-Wagner-Platz adjacent to the west of the actual construction site was tobe used as a construction site equipment area. A part of thissquare is underlain by an approx. 1,000 m² large, formerunderground bunker. This underground bunker was detonatedin 1946 by the Soviet army. As a result of the destruction of asupporting middle wall and the associated lowering of thecover plate, an unstable condition accompanied by the entry ofgroundwater set in, leading to a load limit for a partial area ofthe square.

Implenia Spezialtiefbau GmbH was contracted to ensure thestability of the affected public area. To do this the bunkerfacility needed to be secured by means of primary filling withhydraulically hardening binder with a minimum compressivestrength of up to 5 N/mm². By means of a secondary filling /post grouting residual cavities were sealed and the form-fittingconnection to the cover plate was ensured.
