successful is if it both listens and delights their customers.
Solution to the Criteria• East of highway 135 in Wichita• The shop must primarily sell cupcakes,
have a physical address for purchases, and must appear in a Google search.
• We judged on the location of the shop, if the shop had a website, and the ingredients used.– Organic, gluten free, vegan, low fat, or
other special diet accommodations.
Physical Appearance• We judged the physical appearance of
the shops.– This includes: Atmosphere- décor,
seating, music, and lighting– Cleanliness of the shop and of it’s
bathrooms
Customer Service• We recorded time spent, and
friendliness of the staff.– Whether or not we were greeted, if
employees smiled, and if they proactively offered assistance
Pricing and Value• Exact cost before tax• For value, we looked at the cupcakes
height and circumference. Then measured the height with icing and without.
• Asked about extra services, discount clubs, specials, bulk discount etc.
Hygienic Food Preparations• How employees handle food, wear
gloves, maintain their hair.
Solutions• We found fourteen different bakeries in
Wichita.• We narrowed the search down to just
five shops– Small Cakes, Sweetly Scrumptious,
Wichita Cake Creations, Cloud 9 Cupcakes, and Twizted Confections all east of highway 135.
Decision• Used an expert’s opinion– JD Power and Comsumer Reports to
come up with much of our surveuy• As a gorup we used the data to collect
our audience’s opion• Used majority rule• Unanimous decision• Consensus
