students to City College Peterborough. Whether you wish to learn for work, career progression or simply for the love of learning a new hobby or interest and meet like-minded people, we offer a wide range of programmes and courses for young people and adults of all ages.
People recognise that learning is one of the greatest investments they can make for their future and that of their families and communities as it opens up a wealth of opportunities.

This course discusses the preparation, planning, crop rotation of an allotment or home vegetable patch.
A basic introduction to growing your own vegetable seeds, pricking out seedlings and potting on.
This course will cover a broad range of borders that can be created using a wide variety of plants. You will create and design your own herbaceous, dry or shady border.
You will learn some basic skills and tips about growing plants and veg in small spaces such as pots, grow bags and hanging baskets. You will also find out more about micro veg, sprouting seeds, pricking out and repotting.

20th Century Painters and Sculptors
The History of the Popes
This course will study a number of key painters and sculptors of the first half of the 20th century including Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Piet Mondrian and Ben Nicholson.
The title ‘Pope’ was used in early times for many leading Bishops, but was gradually restricted to the Bishop of Rome, who took on the role of guaranteeing ‘correct’ belief and assuming primacy over the whole of the Church.

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are one of the most popular forms of qualification in the workplace as delegates can choose a programme that helps them to develop their skills and knowledge in the workplace. Students can fit their studies around their busy work and personal commitments within an agreed framework and timescale. Students will be assigned a qualified assessor to support them throughout the programme.

This programme is designed to help learners study up to and including a Level 2 qualification and a recognised qualification in
English and Maths.
You can choose from practical work-based vocational skills or simply work towards gaining a qualification while you decide exactly what career path you want to follow. Your programme of study is likely to include some Maths, English and work experience as part of the course.
Throughout the programme, you will benefit from a dedicated Support Worker and free guidance on any money you could receive e.g. travel/bursary payments. Support will be available throughout your programme to help you achieve and complete your chosen course.

Earn while you learn Apprenticeships are a great way to obtain a recognised work-related qualification. You will find a range of apprenticeships available for you to choose from along with help to find that very important job. Fees & Payments Payment for your chosen course(s) is as follows:Individual course fee up to £150 (after concession)• Fullpaymentmustbemadeatthetime of enrolment.
Individual course fee £151 – £849 (after concession)• FullpaymentatthetimeofenrolmentOr• 60%ofcoursefeeatthetimeof enrolmentandtheremaining40%,by 2nd March 2015.
Individual course fee £850 or more (after concession)• FullpaymentatthetimeofenrolmentOr60%ofcoursefeeatthetimeofenrolmentand20%by2ndMarch2015and20%by13th April 2015.
The service reserves the right to request full payment at the time of enrolment.
N.B. Please note you are liable for the full course fee regardless of when you leave the course, irrespective of your payment method. It is important that you make the payment(s) by the date(s) stated to secure your place on the course and for you, and fellow students to benefit from this facility.

For some courses that result in a qualification, there may be an exam entry fee to pay. Please check at the time of enrolment. On some practical courses, there may be a small charge for materials. You will be advised of this at enrolment.
Concessionary Fees A fee reduction may apply for learners who are:
1. over 60 years of age and unwaged 2. receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance (including the partner where the claim is joint)3. receiving Employment Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group4. receiving Universal Credit (unemployed) and mandated (required) to undertake skills training5. aged 19–23 and do not currently hold a Level 2 and studying for a qualification course funded by the Skills Funding Agency. Proof of benefit must be provided at the time of enrolment. Individuals aged 60 and unwaged must confirm they do not receive any form of income to benefit from any concessionary fee.
Free TuitionFree tuition is available on Skills for Life(Maths and English) and other selectedcourses.
Refund PolicyRefunds will only be given on the following grounds:
1. If the course is cancelled by the Service2. The learner cancels their place on the course not less than 14 days before the commencement date. The Policy does not apply to short courses of fewer than 2 sessions, e.g. Saturday courses, where no refunds will be given. 3. The learner withdraws from a course due to illness and can produce a doctor’s certificate.
The 24+ Advanced Learning loan isdesigned for individuals who wish tostudy for a Level 3 or Level 4 course.Individuals must be aged 24 andover to qualify for the loan and musthave an offer letter from their College ortraining provider for your chosen course(s) before you can apply for the loan. Once approved, the loan will be paid to the College on your behalf towards your course fees.
Who is eligible? Anyone who is:• Aged24oroveratthestartoftheir course (there is no upper age limit)• ResidentintheUKonthefirstdayof the course and has lived in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 years immediately before this• Hasnotpreviouslyhadaloantodo the same qualification type and level of qualification
What does this mean for you?You don’t pay anything up front for your course. Youcanapplyforupto100%ofthefullcourse fee.
If you are earning less than £21,000 per annum, you don’t pay anything back. Above this repayments are from as little as £7 per month.No repayments due until April 2016If your loan is for an Access to HE programme and you progress and complete HE study, you will not have to pay back your FE loan.
