Please remember our Parish in your Bequests and Wills
Offering Mass for a special Intention is a long standing tradition in the Catholic Church. It is usually considered that special graces are obtained for whom the Mass is said. Masses are offered for many reasons, for the souls in purgatory, in remembrance for someone who is deceased, or in honor of a birthday, or in thanksgiving for special blessings that we received. If you would like to have a Mass said for someone, please contact the Parish Office at 416-694-0382 or drop by the office during regular office hours.
We are requesting the parishioners to sponsor a Sanctuary Candle ($20.00) or Candles at Mother Mary’s Altar ($15.00) or Altar Flowers ($50.00), for your intentions or in memory of a deceased loved one. For more information or to place your request please contact the parish office @ 416 694 0382.

First Friday Eucharistic Adoration
Our First Friday Eucharistic Adoration will be on November 1, soon after the 9:00 am Mass.
We will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and spend some time in silent prayer and a benediction to conclude.
We encourage everyone to spend one hour with our Lord and experience a wonderful personal
relationship with Him.
Come let us Adore Him……..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ OCTOBER 2019: EXTRAORDINARY MISSIONARY MONTH
Theme: Baptized and sent: The Church of Christ on mission in the world.
Thank you very much for your generous contribution to last week’s World Mission Sunday collection. This support is a blessing for the Bishops, the Priests, the Sisters, the Brothers and the Lay Catechists who depend on this help from the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Please continue to pray for those who serve in mission countries so that they may remain steadfast in their vocation to bring Christ’s message of love to those they serve. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adieu to Father Martin Mairena
Fr. Martin Mairena, member of the Institute of the Incarnate Word, is our parishioner and a Missionary in Guyana. He was on holidays for a month and was so involved in our parish life and liturgical celebrations. It
was so nice for us to host a Missionary priest here at Corpus Christi in this Extraordinary Missionary Month. We thank Fr. Martin profusely for sharing his mission experience with us and for the time that he spend with our parish family. As he is going back to his mission on October 29th we send our prayers and best wishes for him and other members in his community to do the will of God in its fullness. Thank you Father Marin for your encouraging presence. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jubilee Food Drive
As the weather turns colder, we need to think carefully about those in need. We will be organizing a winter food drive for the Good Shepherd Ministries as the next event in celebrating our Parish Jubilee Year. We’re
asking parishioners to bring non-perishable food products, in cans, bottles or boxes, to any Mass on the weekends on November 2 and 3, November 9 and 10 or November 16 and 17. Remember that a goal for our Jubilee Year is to build up and strengthen our faith community by opening our hearts to others. Please join us in making our Jubilee Food Drive a success! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The entire month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. We invite everyone to join us to pray the rosary on Saturdays at 4.30 pm, and on Sundays at 10.30 am as a parish family. Let us bring our intensions before mother Mary for her special intersession. ---------------------------------------------------
--------------------------- With our fall weather and life getting into the swing of things, we will be having our craft sale, with a
new name and still the great vendors plus some new ones.
Our two days of fun and crafts will be: Saturday November 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As in previous years, our vendors will have only handmade items. Our kitchen will have volunteers who will be serving sandwiches, chili and other delicious items in our “café”; not to be missed!
If you have some hidden talents that you think you would like to share in the form of crafts, art, sewing, we may have a table for you to rent and sell these precious items.
As in previous years, we are looking for volunteers for making baked goods for sale. This is always very popular and is in large part a great way to donate where it will benefit our parish.
If you are interested in renting a table for this two‐day event or you are looking to share your talents by volunteering, please contact Carol Lombard at 416‐418‐5713.3
We have 3,000 tickets to be sold in total. We have received $5,750 and have been put into the bank account; that is 38.3% of the total tickets, or 1,150 tickets. 2,300 have been taken by parishioners to be sold, so there are 1,150
tickets yet to be returned. We still have 700 tickets to be disturbed and sold, that is 70 books of tickets. If 70 families took one book to purchase or sell to their families, co-workers or friends, we would have all of the tickets out in the community. We have 21 days before we wrap up for the raffle draw. The odds are 1 in 1,000 to win one of three prizes; these are better odds than playing the lottery, and it’s for our community. It is a wonderful way to get involved.
We need to raise $8,200, and printing and licencing expenses, to pay the prizes and cover the costs. We urgently need your help to sell as many tickets as possible to fulfill our responsibility without taking funds from the parish.
If you have some books of tickets sold, please bring them and the cash to the church and you may give them to the ticket seller at the back who will gladly take them or you can drop them off at the parish office, Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The raffle draw will be held on the last day of the Craft Fair which is Sunday, November 17th.
First prize - $7,500 Second prize - $500
Third prize - $200
Net proceeds will go to the church for maintenance of grounds, utilities, etc. Thank you in advance and good luck on the draw!

ones on the envelope you wish to be prayed for and drop them into the box provided. All envelopes will be kept on the altar during the whole month.
