WG-UV TERMS OF REFERENCE

- to study the measurement problems in the UV range and encourage coordination of the work of NMIs in that field;

- to take initiatives aimed at improving world-wide equivalence in the field of UV radiometry, taking into account not only traditional techniques but also techniques such as synchrotron radiation, cryogenic radiometry and novel techniques for improving the stability of transfer standards.

CURRENT CCPR FOCUS

• Completion of first rounds of all key comparisons

• Completion of all service categories for the recognition of calibration and measurement capabilities under the MRA

• Refocusing on technical work in important new areas in radiometry, like fibre optic metrology

Page 18: CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE FOR PHOTOMETRY AND RADIOMETRY Report to the 22 nd General Conference on Weights and Measures.

CURRENT CCPR CHALLENGES

• Shifting of BIPM resources out of traditional physical metrology and into chemical metrology

• Resulting closure of BIPM photometry and radiometry laboratories

• Taking up of additional workload by national metrology laboratories
