Creation of "EMAG" was a great
experience. We all are very happy
putting forth the first issue of "EMAG", a
step towards 'Green-IT'. It's a feather in
the crown of our Department. I am sure;
it's going to be a colossal platform for
our students n staff to explore their wits.
Revising Green Revolution is a task at the hands of Engineers of this modern day, to save this
Earth and whole mankind from threats of Global Warming

and with faith in my students this
venture has come true. Hope this
volume continues with fervor articles
and more of green IT solutions.
Congratulations to the students
committee for their time for making this
venture come true
Firstly let me congratulate the entire team of “EMAG”. Knowing that this is the maiden edition of
this e-magazine, it’s very special.
I am very eager to read your crazy and out of box ideas through this platform provided by
Computer Engineering Dept. of SKNCOE. I will be very happy to see few green IT solutions coming
up through ‘EMAG’ as it’s one step towards Green IT.
I wish you all every success in future.
Dr. S.D. Markande
(Vice Principal-SKNCOE)
I am delighted to see & write a foreword for the first issue of E-MAG: An e-magazine being
published by the students of this department. I am happier that students have chosen to publish
an electronic magazine over paper magazine. I am impressed by their initiative to “Go Green”. My
heartiest congratulations to our student association & ACE committee for this initiative. I am
confident of the success of this magazine & looking forward to better & more brilliant issues with
every semester in future. My very best wishes & Blessings!

Computers That Use Light Instead of
Electricity? First Germanium Laser Created
MIT researchers have demonstrated the first laser built from germanium that can produce
wavelengths of light useful for optical communication. It's also the first germanium laser to
operate at room temperature. Unlike the materials typically used in lasers, germanium is easy
to incorporate into existing processes for manufacturing silicon chips. So the result could prove
an important step toward computers that move data -- and maybe even perform calculations -
- using light instead of electricity. But more fundamentally, the researchers have shown that,
contrary to prior belief, a class of materials called indirect-band-gap semiconductors can yield
practical lasers.
As chips' computational capacity increases, they need higher-bandwidth connections to send
data to memory. Transmitting data with lasers -- devices that concentrate light into a narrow,
powerful beam -- could be much more power-efficient, but it requires a cheap way to integrate
optical and electronic components on silicon chips.
The materials used in today's lasers, such as gallium arsenide, are "all tough fits," says Tremont
Miao, a marketing director at Massachusetts-based Analog Devices Semiconductor. "They're all
challenging integrations." Integrating germanium into the manufacturing process, however, is
something that almost all major chip manufacturers have already begun to do, since the
addition of germanium increases the speed of silicon chips. "We and lots of other people know
how to do that," Miao says.
MIT researchers have demonstrated the first laser built from germanium that can produce
wavelengths of light useful for optical communication.

The year 2010’s biggest breech is termed as the malicious insiders. People from industry
have started to leak out information via net and other physical sources. Security which
had a primary concern of invasions and hacking has now shifted to extrusions.
These insiders are broadly categorized to 3 categories. These would be exploited,
malicious and vulnerable. To control such breech of an enterprise’s privacy various
measures are being implemented. Time brings along both problem and solution and the
solution from antivirus has again got its focus on to programmers. Implied by the CIO
and CCO chief information and compliance officers take care of the extrusion business.
CIO and CCO are less commonly available the certification for such a job is both
expensive and requires great efforts from user’s side. With advancing time companies
have started hiring certified CIO and CCO personnel for prevention of extrusion.
Learning from the Brain
They have been coordinating the
European Union research project "Brain-
i-Nets" (Novel Brain Inspired Learning
Paradigms for Large-Scale Neuronal
Networks) for three years, and are
launching a three-day meeting of the
participating researchers in Graz. The
scientists want to design a new
generation of neuro-computers based
on the principles of calculation and
learning mechanisms found in the brain,
and at the same time gain new
knowledge about the brain's learning
mechanisms.
"In contrast to today's computers, the
brain doesn't carry out a set
programmed but rather is always
adapting functions and reprogramming
them anew. Many of these effects have
not been explained," comments IGI head
Wolfgang Maass together with project
co-ordinator Robert Legenstein. In co-
operation with neuroscientists and
physicists, and with the help of new
experimental methods, they want to
research the mechanisms of synaptic
plasticity in the organism.

Machines are invented with ability to generate output and set of output for given input set.
Machines have the power to generate all possible permutations and combination set for a given
input mapping one too many in output set. Machines have now evolved with time from listeners
and implementers to learners and selectors. Artificial intelligence advances as an integral field in
computer science. It revolutionizes on the machine’s ability to serve its master.
The Algorithm aims at exploiting machine in generating all possible permutations and
combinations for a give input set. The system aims at implementing a trained network in the final
selection process. The output may be stored and retrieved from the database maintain at the
final block of the system. The system algorithm is defined only for the Input Module in detail with
an uneven algorithm for module -2 covering the necessary aspects.
IGA base system form the backend of any design system where inputs are constrained by set of
rules and limited resources. They provide an evolutionary approach to thought process in
machines. Developing such a system would be challenge, but I am sure that it would be one of
the boons to the advancing age in Information and Technology.
In this modern era of globalization and modernization in each and every field the competition is
at its peak. Even this case is true for the technologies available to us nowadays and also which
may rule the world in the future. One of such is RedTacton which is under development,.
The word RedTacton can be split up into two parts "Tacton" because with this technology,
communication starts by touching, leading to various actions .The colour “Red” conveys the
meaning of warmth in communication. It is basically a new human area networking technology,
which uses the surface of the human body as a safe, secure and high speed network transmission
path.
The focus on the ubiquitous service has brought shortening of distances in the communication.
RedTacton is placed to ultimate close range communication. It is placed directly between wireless
and wired communication. But it is different than the infrared and wireless technologies as it uses
minute electric field emitted on surface of the human body.
RedTacton is a technology which can be very helpful for the coming generation as it will be quite
laborsaving and would change the complete scenario of the world. This technology would bring a
complete revolution in this world and if used properly this can be one of the man’s greatest
inventions ever in the field of communication
