Cisco,Texas(June4,2018)–FourCiscoCollegeRodeoathleteswillbemakingtheirwayto

Casper,WyominglaterthismonthtoparticipateintheCollegeNationalFinalsRodeo(CNFR.)

TheCNFRisthebestofthebestincollegerodeowheretheNationalIntercollegiate

RodeoAssociationcrownsindividualeventchampionsinsaddlebroncriding,barebackriding,

bullriding,tie-downroping,steerwrestling,reamroping,barrelracing,breakawayropingand

goattying.Morethan400cowboysandcowgirlsfromhundredsofcollegesanduniversities

competeinCaspereachyear,andthisyearfourCiscoCollegestudentswillbeamongthem.

Toqualifythesestudentshadtoplaceinthetopthreeoftheireventfortheentire

NationalIntercollegiateRoedoAssoscation(NIRA)SouthwestRegion,whichisnoeasyfeat.

TyHarriswillrepresentCiscoCollegeinCalfRoping.AlthoughHarrishasbeenroping

sincetheageoffour,thisishisfirstappearanceattheCNFR.Heislookingforwardtohoninghis

skillsandcompetingagainstthebestofthebestinthishighlycompetitiveevent.

“It’saverytoughsport.Ittakesprettygoodathletesbecauseit’sjustaverytoughsport;

there’salotofvariables,”Harrissaid.

MadisonMilliganwillalsomakeherfirstappearanceattheCNFRinBreakawayRoping.

She’sbeenropingforyearsandlooksforwardtothetoughcompetitionshewillfacefromall

overthenation.

“IlovebeingabletorideahorsethatItrainedonmyownandbesuccessfulatit,”said

Milligan.“It’sprettycool.IonlydidRodeoforasemesterthisyearandIqualified.Thefactthat

Imadeitinjustonesemesterisprettyexciting.”

TogetherLaneGoebelandJusticeThompsonwillrepresentCiscoCollegeinTeam

Roping,andtheyhopetomakeWranglernationproud.

“Competingatthathighofalevelisjustsomethingyoualwaysstrivefor,andjusttobe

abletogoisanamazingopportunity,”saidThompson.“IhopethatIjustgetsomegreat

experienceandhopefullydomybestandlearnsomething.”

Althoughtheschoolyearhasendedandtheyliveindifferentstates,Goebeland

Thompsonpracticejustabouteverydaytoprepare.“It’sjustsomethingthatIlovetodo.It’smy

hobbyandIjustlovetogorodeoeveryweekend,it’salwaysagoodtime,”saidThompson.

“Wearesoveryproudofthesestudentsandtheiraccomplishments,”saidCiscoCollege

RodeoCoachDonEddleman.“IknowthattheywillrepresentuswellinWyoming;Ijustcan’t

waittoseetheminaction.”
