The Christmas Magazine 32 The Christmas Magazine
Another year behind us already? Where did the time go? And before you know it, the holidays will be over and you’ll go back to the daily grind of adult responsibility. So make a point of enjoying every day of warm weather, good food and time with family and friends. It’s been a tough year
for many people, so don’t feel guilty about taking some time for yourself; indulge in some of life’s little pleasures, whatever that means for you, before heading back into the rat race.If you’re facing the festive season with rising panic at all the things you still have to complete so that everyone else can have an enjoyable time, fear not. Within the covers of this magazine you’ll find ideas and advice to help get you through the obligatory parties, whether you’re hosting or attending, and the inevitable stress from dealing with your extended family. This year, Protea Hotels came up with some unique and mouth-watering recipes, exclusively for The Christmas Magazine – so exclusive that some of them aren’t even offered in the restaurants of their hotels. And when you’re done planning your perfect meal (pg 64), why not whip up a batch of cinnamon star cookies with the kids (pg 74)? These cookies are a traditional part of German festivities and make a lovely addition to a tea break. If you’re more comfortable with your craft box than in the kitchen, we have six beautiful projects with which to tempt you (pg 38). While you can make these on your own, there are three projects that the kids can happily help with, or complete by themselves. If nothing else, it will keep them out of your hair for a few hours so that you can get on with your to-do list.Have a blessed festive season.
