SPECIAL ACTIVITIES in BEIJING
1. Tea Ceremony during Hutong Tour:
We can arrange clients to visit a local family in Hutongs and sip tea
together with the local host/hostess. Witness and experience a traditiona
tea ceremony - the process of preparing tea for guests.
2. Meal Prep During Hutong Tour:Prepare meals (including shopping for vegetables, meat etc.) Cook
together with hostess, and have lunch with local family.
3. Kite Making During Hutong Tour:
We can also arrange clients to visit one of the folk artist/artisans, and
learn to make a traditional Chinese kite and then fly your own
masterpiece at the Olympic Park. (good experience for kids).
4. Visit Shichahai Sports School:
The home of many Chinese World Champions, such as the women's
table tennis world Champion, Zhang Yining. Visit 5 different training
halls to see students practice table tennis, martial arts, boxing,
badminton, taekwondo, and gymnastics. - A good experience for kids
interested in sports.
5. Peking Opera Pre Show Preparation:
Before watching the Peking Opera, visit the back stage of the Peking
Opera watching actor/actress doing face painting.
6. Group Dinner at the Great Wall:
We can arrange groups to have dinner on the Great Wall with catering
from a nearby hotel.
Requirements: Minimum 30 people (buffet style due to no fires allowed
at the great Wall) rental of the venue, lights (approx. $6500)
Buffet dinner cost $100 per person including red/white wine, but
requires minimum 50 pax.
7. Private Boat at Summer Palace:
We can charter the boat on the Kunming Lake for passengers, cost is $20for 30 minutes, and $300 for 1 hour.
8. Visit to Martial Arts School:
We can arrange visit to Beijing Shaolin Martial Arts School and see
students practicing martial arts, and if request, they can arrange a
performance.
9.Visit to Beijing Opera School:
See teenagers learning Beijing Opera singing and body performance.

10. Plant Trees at Great Wall
We can arrange clients to plan trees at a site close to the Great Wall, or d
brick/cement repair work of Great Wall ruins.
11. Special Forbidden City Tour
We now can arrange special visit to Chong Hua Palace and Shufangzha
Palace (which are not open for regular tourists).
Chonghua Palace- Is the place where Emperor Qianlong lived hi
life as a Prince before succeeding to the crown and became the
Emperor. There are three gardens and three main houses in the
Palace .The three main houses were Emperor Qianlong's tea house
sitting room and study. It was in the Chong Hua Palace that
Emperor Qianlong practiced Chinese calligraphy .It is a big honou
for imperial family members, especially the concubines to receive
the writing of the big character "Happiness" from the emperor.
The Palace is not open to the public. This special visit can bearranged for the group to visit the Chong Hua Palace of the
Forbidden City to see the treasures behind the scenes.
Shufangzhai Palace- is the place where the emperors hold
banquets for the imperial family or his ministers in Qing Dynasty
A small stage was also built and used as the venue for the imperia
family to enjoy operas.
In Forbidden city, we can also arrange a visit to a ceramic museum insid
the Forbidden City. The museum displays ceramics from the earliestpieces of ceramic to the most contemporary masterpieces. The
experience shows the whole history of the development of the
craftsmanship of ceramics. We can invite experts from the Forbidden
City to discuss the work.
Other group activities are also offered such as lunch/dinner inside the
Great Hall of People, meals inside Diaoyutai State Guest House and
more.

1. Bamboo raft trip (not motorized) on Yulong River
Clients can take bamboo raft on Yulong river, a tributary of the Li River,
where the water moves slow and calm. 2 clients will take one bamboo
raft, and drift downstream on the Yulong river and enjoy the beautiful
sceneries on both sides. The bamboo raft ride normally takes 40-60
minutes (short program), or 2-3 hours (long program)
Bamboo rafting on the Yulong River is getting more and more popularfor tours of Yangshuo. Rafting on the Yu Long River does not mean that
you go over rapids or waterfalls, it is actually a very peaceful way of
traveling on water, following in the arms of the green mountains and
bamboo forests. This is a relaxing, peaceful journey with beautiful
views to take it. It's also the easy way to have fun on the Yu Long River.
2. Motorized Bamboo raft on Li River
We can arrange clients to take motorized bamboo raft on the Li River.
The current moves faster and the ride is longer than the ride on Yulong
river. There are 4 seats on each raft, but normally, we put 2 clients onone raft so that it will be safer and more comfortable, and besides, the
guide requires one seat or will have to rent another raft.
There are several programs, some longer, some shorter, but we would
suggest two programs: 1. Yangdi pier-Nine Horse Mountain-Yangdi
pier, about 2 hours; 2. Yangdi Pier - Xingping, about 1.5 hours.
3. Cooking Class in Yangshuo
Upon arrival in Yangshuo, we can arrange clients to take a chinese
cooking class - from buying goods, cleaning, cutting, to preparing and
cooking dim sum. After the lesson, clients will have a dinner to present
their own work.
4. Cormorant Fishing
We can arrange clients to see cormorant fishing at night. Clients will
take a fisherman's boat on the Li River, and watch how cormorant catch
fish.
5. Bicycle ride around Yangshuo area
We can arrange bicycle ride around Yangshuo area to see the rice
paddies, local villages and natural scenery. Length of the ride dependson clients interest, strength and health condition.

1. Panda breading Center Tour
We can arrange visit to the Sichuan Panda Breeding and Research Base
where clients are able to hold pandas (depending on availability) and
take pictures.
2. Work for the Panda Research Base
We can arrange clients to work for the day at the Panda Research Base
and do the daily works of the personnel of the panda base - cleaning the
panda house, prepare food for pandas, feed pandas, observe the pandas.
(Normally work one day there).
3. Visit to the Bifengxia Panda Preserve
Originally, the Wolong Panda Preserve was the largest panda preserve in
China and in the world, with the largest group of pandas. But in 2008, an
earthquake severely damaged the Wolong Preserve, so all the pandas
were brought to Bifengxia Panda Preserve, and now this is the largest
panda preserve in China. Clients can see pandas in the wild, and we can
arrange to invite experts from the preserve to give discussions. We canalso arrange clients to work as volunteers in this preserve.
1. Special visits at the Terra Cotta Warrior Museum:
A. 2nd level of the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum:The second
level in front of the Pit #1 is a private VIP area open only to invited
guests such as state leaders. It can provide you with an over-all
view of the excavation site as well as a close-up look at the Terra
Cotta Army. When at this lower level you can enjoy your own
privacy without being bothered by other tour groups, particularly
in the tourist season.
B. Restoration area in Pit #1- at the back of Pit #1, there is a
workshop where the terra cotta warriors and horses are being
restored by archaeologists. There are quite a few Terra Cotta
Warriors and horses there, some of them have already been
restored while the others are still in the process. When led into the
restoration site, you can walk through the Terra Cotta Warriors and
enjoy viewing them at the same level.
C. Restoration Room- In the office area of the museum, a research
center has been established, where archaeologists study all the
cultural relics newly discovered from the tomb area. The research
center consists of two restoration rooms and museum labs where
painted broken pieces are scanned and treated with mildew
resistance. It covers a total area of 200 square meters with 30 staff.
By visiting you can get first hand information on what
technologies are applied by archaeologists for the preservation and
restoration of the cultural relics.

2. Visit local cave dwelling families:Cave dwellings are common in certain areas of northern China
(especially in Shaanxi Province), where they serve as homes for millions
of people in history. In the provinces of Shaanxi and Shanxi where the
yellow earth (called loess) is quite compacted, cave houses have been in
use for centuries. Now there are still some families living in these cave
houses. Visit a local village outside of Xi'an and visit one of the cavedwelling families and learn about their lives. (Note: nowadays, with the
development of rural economy, the cave dwelling are gradually
diminishing in areas close to big cities, and if clients want to see the real
cave houses that are still in function, they may need to drive 2.5-3 hours
out of Xi'an. If they only want to see the sites this can be accomplished
with a 1 hour fdrive out of Xi'an).
3. Special visit to the vault of murals:
Visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum to see the vault. We can also
arrange experts to give discussions if requested.
4. Restoration Room of the Provincial History Museum:
Clients can pay a private visit to the special restoration room in the
provincial history museum, where an exhibition of national treasures is
held for clients only. There will be around 10 pieces of real national
treasures - art and relics, and clients can touch and hold them with whit
gloves.
5. Special visit to the restoration room of the Yangling Tomb.
6. Visit the Ancient City Wall of Xi'an and ride bicycle on top of thewall.
7. Special visit to the Ox Museum:
This is a private museum, but it has a wide collection of national
treasures. It consists of two parts: one part holds art and relic pieces wit
the image of ox, the other part has many national treasures of porcelain
and pottery, the value of each piece will be in the millions or tens of
millions in RMB. The clients can also pay a special visit to the curator's
room (Called Curator's Choice), and clients can see the essence of the
museum. The curator will meet the clients, explain the importance ofeach piece, and clients can hold the relic/art piece in their hands.

SHANGHAI
1. Cooking Lesson:A cooking lesson can be arranged at Yueyang Road, Xuhui District of
Shanghai. Clients will learn to cook Chinese dishes or make Chinese dim
sum, and will present their own works after the lesson.
2. Be a Shanghainese for half a day:
Clients can visit the old local community, visit the community
committee, sit down with the director of community to learn about thecommunity and what their daily works are. Then, visit the local
food/vegetable market where the local people shop for food. Visit a loca
Shanghai family in the community to see what the local Shanghainese
family look like and learn about their daily life and concerns.
3. Visit to Feng Jing Water Town:
Feng Jing is an ancient water town, 1.5-2 hours drive from Shanghai.
Clients can visit this ancient town to see what a typical water town in
southeast of China looks like, and can visit a traditional Chinese Rice
Wine factory. You willalso pay a private visit to the local communitycommittee and listen to the director of the committee to talk about the
their local history. Visit a former bomb shelter during cold war used as
committee of a commune during the Cultural Revolution.
