Students with Learning DifficultiesPlay a game: Have each student write a sentenceincluding a profession and a future-tense verb.The sentence can be logical or illogical (El pintorpintará con las tortugas.) Split the class into twogroups. One group member reads his or hersentence aloud. Review ActivitiesSuggestions: To talk about professions in science andtechnology: Have groups of students taketurns describing what each professionaldoes. The others in the group must guessthe name of that profession.To talk about professions in business:Have groups of students create andperform skits about a mail carrier whomust deliver mail to an office where all ofthe employees are named either JuanSánchez or Juanita Sánchez. One studentplays the office manager and must explainwho each person is by stating theirprofession.To talk about professions in the arts: Saythe names of well-known people in thearts and have students tell you whetherthey are artists, writers, or painters. To talk about professions in law andpolitics and about the future: Havestudents write game show-style cluesabout words to talk about professions inlaw and politics and about the future. Usetheir clues to quiz the entire class.

Students with Learning DifficultiesHave students prepare color-coded flashcards tohelp them organize their vocabulary. Give themgreen paper for words about Earth, red paperfor words about energy, and blue paper to talkabout the environment.
